Check out the whole piece for breakdowns of other teams, but some Grizzlies' cliff notes:
-Montana is the anti-Idaho: the Griz are top three in just about every major stat, and even with Akoh down the team is playing more guard/wing centric and its working.

-Even w/o Akoh, Montana is peaking at the right time---Weber has faultered (some with injuries), Northern Colorado has one scorer, EWU just lost their leading scorer to injury (Jacob Davison---time table for return unclear). Only Montana State joins the Grizzlies on an upward trajectory

-The state of Idaho owns the two worst teams in the conference. Insert personalized put down here:

Great research.

Wonderful read.

And yet....

I don't care who's hot, who's not. Who's peaking, who's freaking.

It all comes down to the tournament.

Three games.

As Jack Dempsey said, "You don't have to be the greatest heavyweight in the world. Just the greatest heavyweight on the night you fight for the title."

So there's only one issue: Who's hot at the tournament.

Hopefully, it'll be the conference's best team.

Sadly, it might not be.

That's just the way it is in the Pig Sty Conference.

Thanks for the kind words. The goal was to create something Big Sky related that could have fit into Grantland.com (Bill Simmons' website before The Ringer). I couldn't find it, so I made it. Living outside of Missoula, there's not a ton of good Big Sky content. The independent podcast world has a few good places (Montana Mint, Tubs at the Club), and the Tootell and Nuanez show helps, but it was a gap I thought I could fill. Glad you guys like it. I'll keep posting.
