Concussion protocol

Just wondering about the rules. If Corbin walker is in concussion protocol what are the chances he is available vs JMU? Also, any idea whether Onu will be available? We’re going to need all hands on deck this weekend.

Walker returned and played most the game after leaving.

:thumb: Didn’t realize he’d returned. Thanks

Wasn't the Walker KO blow in the 4th? He knocked himself so cold his body walked around for 5 seconds before realizing the brain had turned off and was rebooting.

I went back and looked. He went out at 7:50 left in the 4th and I don't know exactly when he came back in but he was in at ~ the six minute mark. However, just because he came back in and played doesn't mean that he didn't suffer a concussion. Considering what happened and how he was acting, one would hope that they have him in concussion protocol. Maybe they end up clearing him which would be great, but for the kid's sake I hope that it's being handled properly. CTE is no joke.

Another thought: once while playing (high school, not for the Griz. I wasn’t THAT good ;) ) I had a game where I was running a LOT. Passing team with lots of deep routes. My blood sugar dipped because of the exertion and I damn near passed out. I basically did what Corbin did and went into a ball. Had to be helped off. Trainer gave me some gummy worms to get my blood sugar back where it was supposed to be and I was better. The next day I was fine.

Im hoping it was a diet thing and not a concussion. He did all the things I did and I don’t think he received a blow to the head. Fingers crossed.

He hit #1 Jones, Jones went out pf bounds with him walking behind continued walking along the sidelines, turned around took a step back and went to his knees. It wasn't from a hit per say.

Looked to me like Ford, Hicks-Onu and Walker all were treated for cramps at nearly the same point in the game. Don’t typically see this with 40 degree weather, but they had to defend 80 passes. All of them returned to action.

The 80 passes gave me cramps too! I can see why they needed a breather even in the 40 degree weather!

He was out of the game for 3 plays.

That's actually a really good point and something I hadn't considered. It was late in the game, they had been running like basketball players thanks to all the passing, and it's quite possible that maybe it was just a blood sugar issue. I say "just a blood sugar issue" but it can be very disorienting, albeit short lived. Let's hope that he's perfectly fine and we'll see him in action on Friday.

And 34 of B's passes were incomplete ... no wonder the game went for flippin' forever.

He went down around 7:50 and back playing at 6:04
