With the last meaningful game winding down, it’s worth reviewing the likely field of teams in the running for bids. The Sac State game could still go either way, but Weber has the tie-breaker there.
The ten auto-qualifiers are:
Monmouth (10-2), James Madison (10-1), NDSU (12-0), Central Connecticut State (11-1), San Diego (8-2), Wofford (7-3), Nicholls (8-4), Holy Cross (7-5), Austin Peay (9-3), Weber State (9-3)
There are eleven teams with 9 or 8 wins that are almost certain to get bids.
Central Arkansas (9-3), Villanova (9-3), Montana (9-3), SEMO State (9-3), Montana State (8-4), Northern Iowa (8-4), Albany (8-4), Kennesaw State (8-2), SDSU (8-4), Illinois State (8-4), Sac State (9-3) or (8-4).
The leaves just three spots to be filled from among the seven-win (D-I only) teams:
SE Louisiana (7-4), Furman (7-4), North Dakota (7-4), Towson (7-5), UT-Martin (7-4), Southern Illinois (7-5).
Are the Griz among the top eight of all those team. Last time I looked at Sagarin they were.
