Coming to town next week - 1st BB game info needed

Headed to town this weekend and staying all of next week (2/4 thru 2/8). Plan on getting to the Men's ball game on Thurs against Idaho.

Need info on parking, tickets and anything else good. Are good seats available to walk-up (or call-in). Might be taking the mother-in-law, so seat backs would be nice. I couldn't tell if the majority of the lower bowl had them when I was watching on Pluto TV. Is there a club level? Beer served?

How hard is parking there? I might convince them to eat across the footbridge and walk across, but that would be dependent on weather.

Thanks
Go Griz

Set up a griztix account and pick your seats!

Plenty of very good seats available. Parking is not a huge problem for basketball like it is for football.

Temps should be in the 40's this weekend.

all the seats that are non GA are seats with backs. just go to griztix.com and pick a seat. Trick to sit on 1st level if you want. Buy a GA ticket and go to the game early. The little sections on the sides of the north end are GA but there is 5 rows of 8 seats i think. Decent seats really and GA price. I know quite a few people who sat/sit there often. Some students that don't want to stand sit there too. It does fill though. Otherwise I recommend any seat that is not right behind the backboard in the south end.
Parking...don't pay the 5 bucks...get there by 615ish and park on campus drive right by the north end of the football stadium. its free and just as close as the parking lot

How to get to a half full gym to watch a basketball game, find decent seats and parking? Huh?

Perplexing.....

Yeah sorry.

As to beer served, the Sky Club about the least "exclusive" club around. I think reserved for certain level corporate sponsors, GSA, Quarterback Club and Roundball Club but I'd bet an out of town visitor (with Mother in law no less) might be able to talk their way up there before game to grab a beer and see the arena perspective from up there. It seems like almost anyone can sneak in there most games.

So...get to the game say 30 - 45 minutes early ask about the Sky Club and try to talk or sneak your way in for a beer or drink before the game.

Someone else can tell you which doorway to enter begin your search for the Sky Club but a brief tip....it's in the arena which has some parking lots very close and sells good tickets for seats (majority with set backs!)

Oh....and I like the Reubens the guys makes at his own little concession on the SW corner in the concession area!

I suggest that you drive to one of the $5 lots, pay, and get closer. Can approach from the west or the south. Walking over bridge is fine too, if it isn't icy or cold, and your group is fine walking the equivalent of about 6 or so blocks.

There is the Sky Club, up high on the East Side. Not sure how you could get into it, or get a pass for it. Alcohol and food served. Food may only be until game starts. Alcohol not served elsewhere. Take elevator from southeast part of arena to top floor. Have no idea whether you can talk your way in.

So, do people who are in the Quarterback club have access to the sky club?

Don't think so. Think it's a cumulative annual giving amount that isn't that high. Maybe $1300 or $1500. QB Club used to minimum of $600, but went to $1,000 last year. So, a minimum QB Club person would have to give a bit more to get on the Sky Club list. Assume GSA and Foundation donations count, but don't know.

Sometimes it's busy up there before games, and sometimes it isn't. Can be fun when it's busy. I don't go up at halftime, as some do, because it's hard to get there, get and drink a beer, and get back to my seat by 2d half. Some people hang and watch from up there. It's not open after the game. The president's box is up there and adjacent too.

Thanks all - my mom-in-law will appreciate the tips. Hopefully, she will prefer to stay home and dog sit for us :)

When I look at tickets online, no seats show available in the lower section. Is that because I haven't set an account yet?

There was something, just something about this post/poster that didn't add up, so I read a few of his posts. These two caught my eye:

July 11, 2013 9:41 9:41 A.M.
"I moved out of Missoula in 94, but visit about twice a year since then for family..."

September 6, 2013 12:30 P.M.
"As someone that drives between Des Moines and Missoula each year (sometimes twice)…"

This guy has been in and around Missoula more in the past five to ten years, than I have. Way more! And I live in the heart of Montana.

^^^ if you grew up in Montana, but now lived in Iowa, you'd also be trying to get back as much as possible. :)

This trip is to try and finalize the lot and builder for a final move back to town. Looking forward to being able to attend Football and BB games in person and finally meeting some of you at the tailgates.

No you won't gt tickets in the lower sections due to them either actually all being sold (which I doubt) or you haven't paid for the GSA or whatever requirement they have for them. They just don't sell them open like they used to. During Tinkle's tenure, I was often able to go to a game the day of the game and buy a ticket in the lower level without issue. A couple of times I was able to buy courtside. Now it seems they are content to let open seats stay open. Depending on the crowd, they will sometimes announce during a timeout about 10 minutes into the game that you can go grab open seats in the lower section if you want, you just have to move if the actual seat holder shows up.

All that aside, I hope you have a kick-ass time and get rowdy! Help fire up the crowd early!

Lower bowl seats are obviously good and closer to court but really kind of pain to get into and out of and to concessions, etc. Best seats for ease of access and still great views etc. would be lower second level seats.

Don't think the 8-minute rule to go to lower level seats is done after conference games start.

Personally, I think the lower level seats are way better. Better view. Can hear some of the action and interaction. My seats are row 1. Love them, as do my guests and clients. Can be fun and social at halftime and other times too, as people come by. Only negative is people coming to game late and walking in front of us, and, depending on the exact seats, a ref standing in front at times, about even with the 3 point line. We just yell down in front, and they move. Ha.

Where is your Report?

We had a great time. Started with dinner at the Iron Horse and arrived to the game about 45min early. No line for parking, no line at will call. MIL and wife go to the restroom where MIL proceeds to lock herself in a stall 😂

Great seats, 2nd level, 9th row, behind the visitors bench (section 202?). Student attendance was pathetic, sent a photo to my college roommate of the students section and he couldn't believe it (we are alumni from 84-89).

Obviously a blowout game, but great ball to watch in the first half. Enjoyed watching the D intensity in person, kept hoping to see a Timmy Falls crazy pass. Didn't even try to get to the club level, but could see the advantage of access.

Likely season tickets in future. The wife enjoyed getting out of the house and we even bumped into several people that we knew from when we lived here in the past.

Only negative was that cotton candy was sold out.
