coming back to basketball

don't know exactly when it happened, but after some 15 years of "going steady" with football, i find my interest and affections coming back to my first love at montana, basketball. maybe it was the krysko tenure and that win over nevada, or the recruiting excitement (shawn stockton, derrick selvig, brian qvale, jack mcginnis, michael taylor and mathias ward) that tinks has brought to the basketball program. certainly it's the scheduling, the chance to get out there and play colorado state, gonzaga, washington state and air force while it's clear the football program is dumbing down the schedule to the albanys and the fort looies of the world, and the challenges are just ebbing away, as was apparent in the peformance of our football team yesterday in sacramento.

prior years, i was pretty much engrossed in football now, but this year i can't wait for basketball to start. is everything cyclical?

Welcome to my world CITY :thumb:

I have to admit City that I also kind of feel the same way you do!!! I have always loved both sports and have supported both in the past but agree totally that the Basketball progam is definately going in the right direction and football is not. Hopefully more fans will start supporting the great Basketball athletes we are now getting!!! And that support starts with the students!!! If the students start supporting basketball I believe more Missoulians will catch on!!! At this point in the Football season I am more jacked about Basketball than I am about Football !!!!!

I'm in the same boat. When does basketball season start?

Practice started friday... Maroon silver on the 24th, exhibition against great falls on halloween and against whitman november 4th. Opener is november ninth. As I've said elsewhere. the students get their courtside seats back for this game. Tell as many people as you can to get out so we can create a great atmosphere and set the tone for the season.

So, people are going back to the bball games. Is that because the team usually scores more than 20?
