We all know that any criticism makes a person anti-Griz and/or anti-Stitt.
Ringneck said:I like Colter's stuff. It's true, he has been critical of many different aspects of the Griz football team, but I don't feel those criticisms were exaggerated or derogatory. He calls 'em like he sees 'em. I think that's commendable, regardless of whether or not it makes the fan base happy.
If you're looking for someone who's going to batt his eyes and blow kisses at the Griz, perhaps you should watch Shaun Rainey's "interviews" on the Grizzly Sports Report. Every single time he sits down with Coach Stitt or a Griz player he acts like a 7 year old kid meeting his favorite Power Ranger. His interviews remind me of those SNL Chris Farley skits where he interviews celebrities like Paul McCartney.
"Remember when you were in the Beatles, and uh, you did that album, um, Abbey Road? And uh, at the very end of the song, the song goes, uh, 'And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.' You remember that? Is that true?"

They want their news to come from people who are somewhat objective but mostly fans of their team. So it’s hard for many to hear criticism because that’s not what they want in reports and discussions on their team. We’ve seen this before, and yeah for years Cat fans accused him of being a Griz spy lol.
For Colter he’s a good and objective reporter with deep insights and opinions... and I get the strong feeling he doesn’t like the current staff/system either so it’s even easier for him to bring critiques.

I’m all for being critical, but that ain’t it. They aren’t associated with Learfield sports so they’re not going to be as positive, but this was like a radio version of the worst fans on e-griz’s.
Maybe that’s their target audience. Lord knows there are plenty of Griz fans that believe if they fire Stitt then Hauck will come back and the Griz will be back in the national championship game (which the Hauck fanatics seem to forget he never actually won).
And I don’t care if he graduated from the J school in Missoula. His little site is predominantly Bobcat coverage and even his Twitter page is him interviewing an MSU player. So say whatever you want, I think it’s pretty clear he’s a Cat fan who really dislikes Stitt.
That’s the prism through which he writes and speaks about Griz football. If you enjoy it, good for you. After a month of listening to him I can firmly say I do not. And wouldn’t pay two cents to read the articles on their little site.

Agreed, and I am very impressed with his understanding of the Xs and Os of the game

I know, my bad. Argh! has pointed out that I disparage groups. So much for any remaining self-esteem.HelenaHandBasket said:kemajic said:Haters!HelenaHandBasket said:We all know that any criticism makes a person anti-Griz and/or anti-Stitt.
Kem, you must keep it to rainbows and ponies to keep people happy.

The only issue I had with what he said on the podcast was Montana having to get back to the old school football: Control the clock and win the last 15 minutes and show who's toughest. It seems a lot of people are infatuated with that style of boring football. But what's wrong with scoring points? Why can't we put up 40+ points a game and still be able to prevent the opponent from scoring 20? I really don't think that's out of the realm of possibility. I like to be entertained when I watch a football game. Let's see some scoring and lets see a shut down defense!

Wish the Missoulian crew and Rainey had enough guts to do the same. They, I am afraid of, are scared to get the cold shoulder from UM staff and lose more access. Keep up the good, unbiased, objective stuff Colter!

It's not about style points, it's about winning, and this offense keeps our defense on the field too long. You see, there actually IS A CORRELATION between the style of offense and our defense.... involoving time-of-possession, owning the trenches, and winning games.

No reason why with a minor adjustment to our "offensive style" we couldn't be better at clock management and still put up 40+ points. Avoid 3 and outs that take 10 seconds off the clock would be a starter.
