Colt Anderson - Sports Bars - Gone from Missoula for many years

I'm gonna ramble here and I don't mean to. I haven't been to Missoula since about 1991.

I did luck out and happened to be in an auction to buy some Griz memoabilia - I got Colt Anderson's shoes that he actually wore in a Bills game and an autographed pic of him. I had to outbid a number of folks but it was worth it.

How the hell do I get to upload the images from my local PC - I'd show the pics? I plan on bringing the photos of those to the Mo Club once a year to have a shot with Colt and eat a burger with Pepper Jack cheese.

Back in my day, they had the following

Stocks
Tap Room
Forum
Reds
Mo Club
Bodaga
Elbow Room
Bucks
Char
Oxford
Press Box

What's it like now? What are the hot spots?

And, how do I upload pics?

Thanks!!

Most of that list is still going strong. Stocks and Reds are the hard-core Griz bars. Bodega is still a Griz bar/college student hangout, The Mo Club is everybody's bar and hasn't changed. Elbow still strong as well as the Press Box. The Iron Horse and Depot are two more that are pretty busy all the time, as well as some of the newer breweries.

Glad to see Bucks on your list. I had the absolute worst fake ID my first two years in college, but Bucks and Harry Davids never turned that damn thing down once.

What Elbow Room? Elbow Room closed a couple years ago. Moved to new bigger location, and it didn't work, apparently.

To upload personal images, go to a website that is designed to do that for you.

This a typical one:

https://postimage.org/

It uploads your photo to an internet site so that it can be accessed.

When you have uploaded a photo, it gives you several choices of how to link. The best one is "hotlink for forums."

That gives the link to the internet version of your photo.

You will get this code to then use:

[X/url=http://postimg.org/image/cvm7zgk3f/]X/http://s17.postimg.org/ijsiqcofz/406528_729141273116_2047954927_n.jpg[/img][/url][X/url=http://postimage.org/]hosting image[/url]
There's a lot of extra garbage there, so strip off the excess:

X/http://s17.postimg.org/ijsiqcofz/406528_729141273116_2047954927_n.jpg[/img]

In each case, I have inserted "X/" before the "http" tag. The original code is but if I leave that in, for the purposes of this explanation, you get the actual image, not the code.

When you replace the X/ with the [img] tag, then you get the image, in this case, one of my boys taking a selfie of his right eye, for some reason.

That is so cool of you. Thank you very much!!!

I had no idea - wow. Where did it move to?

They blew up the double wide with a couple sticks of C4 and turned it into a big paved parking lot and built a fancy bar on the corner of Stephens.

You're using a different link than "hotlink for forums" I think, but if you parse that code:

[imi]http://s13.postimg.org/ehd7nsypj/Colt_Shoes.jpg[/img]

So you can see the actual code, I changed the inital

C4 in sticks... That's way cool. Stuff in my garage is in bricks. Does the new stuff still smell motor oil?

Hasn't the new Elbow Room location just reopened as a restaurant called Rumour's or Rumour?

I haven't eaten there and was wondering about it. Do they still maintain the sports bar theme or are they more casual dining these days?

New Closer to fine dining. I've not been there but here it's pretty high-end decor, etc. Probably has TV but anything but a sports bar. There is a "rumour" it's open......but I predict you better get there soon or you may miss it. Owners lost the Ranch Club golf course, but found someone to loan them money and decided to open a fine dining restaurant in the middle of town in fairly odd location.

A couple other new places downtown not mentioned, Tamarack Brewery (Front St.) and Thomas Meagher Bar (Pine St....old Connie's) Both those have lots of TV's and pretty good pub food. Tamarack has full liquor but serves only "Tamarack" beers.
