Thanks for the advice Dick!

Well, Merry Chistmas anyway to all the e-grizzers out there despite this nonsense. The truth is that not one of us can accurately predict what next season will bring. If one or more of you can you are wasting your time here and should be investing all your time gambling on sports or heavily investing in the stock market.

Here is the way I see it. There are a lot of you out there that want desperately to believe in the coaching staff - so desperately that you make illogical predictions for 2017 and 2018 even though based on coaching records there is possibly only moderate hope for such optimism. Lots of coaches have run spread offenses and apparently Stitt's only claim to fame, one that he originated anyway, came via the fly sweep. So you have bought into something, and push it on this forum, really based on hope that he can put a championship team together when he hasn't done that before. Lots of fans do that and while sometimes irritating to some of us, it won't hurt anybody.

75 points this out, and some of you go ballistic and then rather uncleverly resort to name calling. Since his position is perfectly clear at this point 75 could probably relax on the topic for a bit and it wouldn't hurt anyone either. Again neither he, I, or anyone really knows what will happen next year or the next if there is to be one for this coaching staff.

I will say this. I haven't been on this forum long but I can't remember, although there may have been times, when he resorts to calling people dicks or dickheads. He may use language that some people like myself need to look up in the dictionary occasionally, but in general his posts don't challenge a person's character (unless puppy parties really tighten your jaws). And I have never seen him post anything that suggests he would wan't the Griz to lose. I'm convinced he wants a winning team just as bad as anyone else on this forum.

Maybe we should ALL try to just leave Stitt's abilities unquestioned until after the New Year. If we could do that maybe we could carry it over until after spring ball and then perhaps, until after a few losses, if that happens, next season. Right........... and it is going to be 75 and sunny on Christmas too.

For my part I'm at least going to try to make it until January 2nd. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and may the New Year be extremely kind to Griz Football.

you are getting a bit carried away there, squirrel.

Not quite sure what you are getting at. I said I wouldn't get into the negative Stitt thing again until after January 2nd and hopefully beyond. So which part of the definition of a squirrel would you be referring to - see below. The only one that seems applicable is 3 - moving in an inquisitive and restless manner. I am inquisitive how some on this forum form opinions without facts to back them up but at least you had the command of the English language enough to not call me a dickhead.

squir·rel
ˈskwər(ə)l/Submit
noun
1.
an agile tree-dwelling rodent with a bushy tail, typically feeding on nuts and seeds.
verb
1.
hide money or something of value in a safe place.
"the money was squirreled away in foreign bank accounts"
synonyms: save, put aside, put by, lay by, set aside, lay aside, keep in reserve, stockpile, accumulate, stock up with/on, hoard; More
2.
move in an inquisitive and restless manner.
"they were squirreling around in the woods in search of something"

you are getting a bit carried away there, squirrel.

Please consider this perspective. This is for 75 and all of you out there, including me, that need to get a grip. I'm 66 but Ryan Montbleau really puts it in perspective. I really want to be 75 and sunny than 29 with a chance of showers all the time.

When Stitt was hired, there was a video out there with Colorado Mines' Justin Dvorak touting Stitt as a great coach and a guy that would do great things at Montana. Dvorak was highly complimentary towards Stitt. But what does he know?

After Stitt recruited and then developed Dvorak for years (under Stitt, Dvorak as a soph led the Orediggers to 10-1 reg seson, rank No. 2 in the nation in passing offense (376 ypg), No. 3 in total offense at 523 yards per game and have converted on more fourth downs than anyone in D-II (29), while making good on over 67 percent of their attempts. Because of this, Dvorak became the 2015 RMAC Pre-Season Player of the Year.

So if we continue to have seasons like this year, finishing in the middle of the BSC, not making the playoffs, losing to the Scats, you believe that Stitt will continue to be our coach as long as he wants?
What about the first season? With dominant wins against the scats and Eagles, a win against NDSU, and navigating through 3 quarterbacks?

Don't forget that first year. He is a damn good coach who is just getting it all in place.
Of course, in any other context, that would be with Delaney recruits and a Delaney DC. But in THIS context, the opposite is true, "because". Egriz is sounding more and more like Bobcat Nation.
Where are Stitt's recruits? Oh ya.....they are all freshmen or redshirt freshmen.

These players LOVE playing for this staff. And I think we need to see that come to fruition.

Not completely true. There were some that were actually playing this year, but felt they deserved more playing time. Especially Dad.

Good post. You used too much reason though, the e-griz regulars will now try to push you out.

Dvorak was quite a high school standout. He also wanted to be a petroleum engineer. It was a nice confluence and a lucky one for "Mines."
Personal Statement

I'm Justin Dvorak, Class of 2012, 6'0 185 lbs, 4.59 40yd dash, 275 Bench, 375 Squat. I'm a 3-Year Letterman in Football and a 2-Year Letterman in Basketball. I am a smart and level-headed quarterback. I am a game changer with a passion to win. I have the desire to play College Football and continue to build on my game and learn more about it each and everyday. In 2011, I was named First Team All District QB for 13-5A and was the leading passer in District 13-5A for 2011 and 2010. The past two years I've set several school records. In 2011, I set a record for total offensive yards in a single game (455) and total passing yards in a single game (380) against DeKaney HS who went on to become the 2011 State Champs. Additional records include: most passing TD's in a game (5), longest single pass (98), most passing yards in a single season (2114), most combined yards in a single season (2784), most combined touchdowns in a single season (27), average pass yards per game (220.3), most career all-purpose yards (5653) and most career touchdowns (50). In 2010, I led my team to their first playoff birth in 7 years, first playoff win since 1988, and first Area Championship since 1985. Our record in 2010 was 10-3 and I was named Second Team All-District QB for 13-5A. I also recieved Academic All-District recognition in 2009, 2010 & 2011 and was nominated for Academic All-State in 2011.
