Awesome! This could be a really special year! Hope we don’t lose coach DeCuire after this year.

Getting excited for hoops. I can't wait for the season to start and can't wait to take time off over the BSC tourney here in Boise!

Contact either Greg Sundberg or Dan Ingram in the GSA office. There is a movement afoot to keep Travis and we can use all the donations possible. Even $500.00 or $1,000.00 for 5 years would go a long ways towards keeping him here.

Amazing, we are so thrilled with this rating. It goes to show how the major conferences have a huge advantage in the NCAA Tournament seedings. If this rating were used for the NCAA Tournament, the GRIZ would be in a play game. I honestly feel, the GRIZ will prove to be a top 40 team at some point this season. That is providing, they have great out of conference results, and no major hiccups w/in the conference. As much as I love the potential with the GRIZ, I equally hate the fact that the conference is a 1 bid conference. It is very possible, a Big Sky team could go undefeated during conference play, and maybe lose a game or 2 in out of conference, then lose in the conference tournament, and get screwed out of a deserving NCAA Tournament bid. Sorry, I just hate it!

I will be pulling for the GRIZ to prove themselves better than this ranking. #gogriz

Actually I DO hope we lose DeCuire after this year because the Griz do so well and create interest. ALL our good coaches have gone on to bigger programs/pay-days after they succeed here. DeCuire will only be here for years to come if he fails.

lol, you really think we can raise more $ (than a Power-Conference school can/will pay)
to keep a successful D1 coach? That's not how it works.

Where did I say that we could raise enough money to outbid a Power 5 conference? If you knew Travis it’s not always about the money. Last year Colorado State came calling with a big payday for him but he turned it down. Travis would go to Washington, Oregon, Cal but he is happy here right now and when the right job comes around he’lol go for it.Right now he is concentrating on building Montana into a regional power. Let’s all enjoy the ride.

I really don't know what you are talking about to be honest. But to expect fans to contribute to pay a coach to stay at a small-market school is unprecedented, naïve and clueless,IMO. And even though I don't know Travis personally, I GUARANTEE he will jump at a higher-paying/higher-profile D1 gig without blinking. he's already tried.

Agree. This is the impression that I have (however naive and clueless it may be ;) ). And so... I'm going to go to every game and.... just enjoy the ride.

I read an article about the CSu hiring process and DeCuire was the 7th/8 guys mentioned in an article. The first guy mentioned, a popular CSU assistant and D1 coach for 2 different teams got the job,so I think saying Travis "turned it down" or that he "would go to Washington, oregon or Cal" if he wasn't so happy in Missoula is patently false. There is nothing to substantiate that. I'll enjoy the ride this year, but I am also realistic. Travis is a good as gone.

Travis will go when the time is right for Travis and his family. I do know Travis pretty well and he will not leave the cupboard bare when he decides its time. If you ever do have the opportunity to sit down and talk with him you would come away very impressed with his character and commitment to not only his players but also to the University of Montana.
