Man: "Why would anyone go to Montana?"

Woman: "That is what I have been trying to freaking tell you."

"Horrible bracket. Who wants to go to freaking Montana. I know we must beat BC first but Montana. Right now it is 21 degrees."

Yep 21 degrees and 26000 fans waiting for you. What more can you ask for.

It's gonna be cold. And loud. 8-)

I'm very tempted to post a few links on their forum. The recent "Our Stadium" thread and maybe the 2011 UNI Pre Game video that is on YouTube

No No Don't do that.....

It would be cool if we could get the crowd noise down to absolute 0 during pre-game. Not going to happen i know but hold up....

Visiting team enters WGS and is struck by the size of it, how full it is with people and how absolutely quiet it is. Visiting team is like.. Wtf? i though this was suppose to be intimidating...

Pure silence from the crowd....

Then Montana delivers the opening kick off, the second the ball is off the ground, 26000 raging hillbillies deliver a deafening roar seconds before the kick is returned, or muffed in this instance..

Then on visiting teams opening drive they get the full fury of the Griz faithful. As we leave the db levels of the ewu game in the dust. Playoffs = Loud

I realize this is stupid, a waste of internet space and blah blah blah but I dreamed this last night and felt like sharing.

The fact that it was snowing at game time makes it even better since i dreamed this last night.....

Let the pointless post bashing begin :loser:

Can't say I blame them, Wa-Griz + cold weather = tough game for warm weather schools.

And I can understand them bitching about the seeding a little bit too, they were 7th in SRS and Montana was 8th...we would bitch about that too.

This looks like a pretty good game on paper, if they beat BC we better be ready and not thinking about the buffalo pasture.

I sure as hell wouldn't want to go to WaGriz either....way too damn cold for us Cajuns!!!
Good luck to the Griz. Glad my Cowboys made it back to the dance. I still can't figure out how we won 10 games this year, let alone got a seed and a 1st round bye.

Sharkey, great to see you back on the board!!

And yes, it's good to have both MACNeese State and Montana back in the playoffs together. McN is a program we Griz have long respected.

Bakun I like the way you think! Its all about the proper application of decibels!
I logged into Coastal's site, I don't think they have much info on UM. Where can I find a nice list of the results that southern first / second round teams have had in WGS in December over the years? I'd like to post it for them, you know, just to be informative.

Welcome back to eGriz, Sharkey.

They should consider themselves lucky that they aren't coming here for a quarterfinal game... We are undefeated in quarterfinal games in Missoula!

Hope they don't see the film of the 4th quarter of the App State playoff game from about 2009...... :)

Seeing it does little justice. Feeling it that night was beyond comprehension. Thank God alcohol gives you a false sense of warmth. I'd rather feel warm and be cold than feel cold and be cold.

No need to disrespect CC, but they’re over-reacting (but that's their “right” as fans). After all, they did beat -- at the start of the season -- two teams that are now in the playoffs: South Carolina and Furman. But you play the schedule you have ... and it wasn’t particularly impressive after that. Except for FBS South Carolina (where they got thumped 70-10), the only ranked team (FCS) they played was Charlestown Southern … which they lost to. Playing Hampton (4-8), Elon (2-10), VMI (2-10), Charlotte (5-6), and Presbyterian (3-8) hurts your GPI and SOS. Of course, they won those games -- like you’re supposed to -- so that helped.

But even with all those wins, their GPI was 13.0 (vs 9.6 for the Griz). Their strength of schedule, as calculated by the NCAA after last weekend, was #52 among FCS teams, vs #35 for the Griz. As I read it, the final SRS numbers (thx to MT Gym Rat for the link) were a wash (0.04 diff), so the other factors swung it in Montana’s favor.

I find it much more interesting how the CC fans are disrespecting their actual opponent, Bethune-Cookman. The tone of their remarks seem to assume they’ll easily get past B-C.

So how do you transition from sea level, humid and warm to 3200 feet, cold and dry air...

Oh yeah and typical rowdy wa griz?

Regardless of who shows up on the 7th, it will be interesting...........

Coastal Carolina defeated Bethune-Cookman last year 24 - 14 in the First Round of the 2012 FCS Playoffs so I'm guessing they're thinking they already got that one.

Don't forget Costal Carolina also played the Liberty Flames with a record of 8-4 and Co-Champions in the Big South Conference and won that game in double overtime 55 - 52.

I find it interesting that Coastal Carolina was the first FCS team to defeat James Madison the following year after James Madison defeated the Griz in the NC in Chattanooga in 2004. Which essentially kept the 7 - 4 James Madison team out of the 2005 FCS Playoffs and kept them from defending their Title.

But James Madison that year did have a victory over a Division II Lock Haven. Having only six Division I victories that year must have kept James Madison out of the running in 2005.

I just have to appreciate Coastal Carolina on that one. :thumb:
