Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Scouting Report

Good report Brint. I am with you on this being a real battle for the Griz despite any said home field advantages. I doubt we need to worry about going for or missing too many FG's in this game, it seems the kickers had their chance and blew it there.

Grant it, I was one of the ones who thought Delaney and staff should have shown them a little more confidence early on to build it up for them a bit. It may well have been a psychological factor with the coaches not showing them early on that they had little to no faith in them. The loneliest position in football that relies the most on confidence has to be the kicker. Laces out per Ace Ventura.

Your comparisons with the former Griz teams seems spot on and is kind of scary. I believe Chase Reynolds had the same number of TD's both seasons but that could have been the same rushing TD's and not total. At any rate the Coastal RB has put up impressive numbers and this team appears to be maybe the most balanced offense the Griz have or will face all season.

Go Griz and Go Griz Nation...bring it for four quarters on Saturday!!!

A defense that built up it's numbers on the backs of teams like Virginia Union, Howard, Delaware State, Savannah State, Florida A&M, Hampton, etc., etc. Comparing #'s across conferences is an absolute JOKE.

BC went 10-1 against "FCS" level competition and would go 2-9 against the Big Sky.

Yeah...no.

Yeah...no.

Exactly.

Top ranked statistically, yes. But it was in the MEAC, playing MEAC schools.

Like when the Griz went to play Davis after the Aggies had played 3 of the 4 worst offenses in the conference, and then the paper was spouting off their numbers as being one of the best ranked defenses in the conference. Uh huh...

I don't know about the 2-9 thing, but the rest of your post is spot on.

The more I read up on them and look at clips, stats, and interviews...the better they look. Running back is a stud. However, I'm not sold on their defense. As long as we avoid turnovers, and keep that offense on the bench, we'll be fine.
