How many national championships have been won at UM by head coaches with no previous head coaching experience? Who was the last UM head coach who had previous head coaching experience? Who was the last Griz coach with previous D1 head coaching experience?

Mick had previous head coaching experience. He was a proven laughingstock at Western Montana as head coach. Even his players used to make fun of his strategy and leadership. Then the next coach came in and made the same team very good in a short period of time.

There was a track record that established him as a terrible head coach at a lower level. This was a very predictable disaster. The only thing more ridiculous than giving him the job was extending his contract before he had a chance to show how bad he is.

The good news is he is probably so bad there will be a "retirement" after this season. It will be possible to get a coach with actual talent next time if the decisions isn't made out of shear panic and the president doesn't have any input.
