Interesting article, check out some of the names that might be done and which jobs will open up? A few names that may impact GRIZ basketball and/or Big Sky Conference. I can see Wayne interviewing for a few of these positions. With that said, I hope he stays as long as possible.

Anyone who would want to promote Wayne Tinkle as a candidate for a move up (WSU or OSU come to mind) could do a good selling job by:

1. Showing game film of the two meetings between Weber State and Montana this season... starting with the game in Ogden and capping it with how the Griz tweaked their game with last night's masterful 11-point win, and then...

2. Add this quote from Kareem Jamar after Montana's win last night: “The coaches did a great job of showing us what they wanted to do and what we had to do. Teams are good, but it’s not really what other teams do, it’s what we do. When we listen to the coaches and they give us great game plans and we execute those game plans, we’re a pretty good team. That’s what we did tonight.”

I can still remember the numerous times former Montana coach Pat Kennedy (2002--2004, 23-35 2 UM) touted Montana as the ideal place to build the next contending mid major program. I believed what he said & still do.

I believe Wayne Tinkle can build that program at Montana if the right things are done to keep him here. While money is probably a factor, I believe Tinkle will remain here (or go to another program) that supports his building of a solid mid major program. In truth, he's only a few players away from doing that right now.

Wish I knew what it would take (besides money) to start a solid "Keep Wayne Tinkle at Montana" public relations program.

Anyone have any ideas?

Nice thing is, Wayne and his wife have priorities ahead of money. Wayne and Lisa each bleed GRIZ, and always will. I do know one thing our fan base can control, and something Wayne is striving for. We can show our support and appreciation for this program much better. That means the ones who do show up be louder and supportive. That means consistently drawing 5500 k plus. Even simply letting the athletic department or Wayne directly know each of us want him to stay would help some.

For those of you who do not know Wayne or his team well. All it takes is watching his interactions with our fan base and his players after games, during/after practices, or simply swinging by the basketball offices and getting to know the man. The man truly appreciates every single GRIZ fan. He truly supports not only his own players, but every coach and athlete that is a GRIZ. He and Lisa love Missoula and Montana.

Even if he does move onto another program, I encourage people to get to know him. You will be a better person for it. At the very least have a great peace of mind about how fortunate the GRIZ have been to have this man lead this program. Frankly, I cannot see a better man for this job than Wayne. A little love and appreciation would go a long way in keeping other suitors at bay, and keep a TRUE GRIZ at home.

Just my :twocents: Do with it as you please. :thumb:

I don't think WAZZU will hire another Big Sky coach...Oregon State however is another matter...

The "Sexiest Man in College Basketball" should be destined to end up in Las Vegas wearing gold chains and a shirt open to his navel...

The fans were certainly giving him the love after the game on Thursday and he was soaking it up post-game as well. Obviously there are some opportunities that will be available to him Montana cannot match but I believe Wayne can accomplish a lot here and I certainty appreciate what he has done for Griz basketball whether he moves on or not.

OSU, Stanford, and Wazzu. As was said, Wazzu isn't going to take another chance on a BSC coach. Stanford will aim for a higher profile coach. OSU is probably the only one that would give him a good, solid look, assuming that job is even open.

OSU daughter headed to Princeton to play...father would love to follow to coach men's team...talk in Corvalis re Tinks has moved beyond downtown?
