Coach Stitt Podcast - Skyline Sports

Dear Mods,

Is it technically possible to suspend or revoke the quote function for individual posters? Just curious.

On a semi-related note, Stitt mentioned that Rey Green could potentially be a guy we see on the field this season. I wonder what would have to transpire for that to happen.

Joey Counts health. If Counts stays healthy enough to contribute, then Green likely redshirts. Stitt sounds as if they really want 3 hbs contributing in a rotation. That's my guess, anyway.

I doubt Counts will be able to contribute any more than half of the snaps Nguyen gets. But if Calhoun is healthy and Favors apparently on the rise, it's hard to see where we need another RB, barring a bad year of injuries at RB. Or maybe Green is just too good to keep off the field.

Thanks for posting that. I completely forgot about Favors, when I posted. Favors looked terrific this last spring. He is not timid any longer and hits the hole hard now. Before, he used to dance to find a hole. He also is not afraid of contact any longer. I think Calhoun's running style rubbed off to Favors. :thumb:

You are right. Green would have to be awfully damn good to crack the rotation.

Praying that Joey stays healthy! However, his history has proven it will be doubtful. When he is in the game, it changes everything, he is a powerful young man and I know defenses don't like tackling him. Calhoun will be the man this year, wait and see!

Counts went east-west quite a bit last season. Even when he was healthy Calhoun was the most powerful back we had. Counts passes the eye test, Calhoun and Nguyen actually gave some production.

I don't recall Counts ever losing yardage last year...when he gets the ball, he is going forward. Yes, he did some outside running, but that is Stitts offense. At the goal line, he doesn't get stopped one-on-one, it takes a whole host of defenders to stop him.

Good memory. Counts lost 2 yards in 29 carries last year.
