Stitt faced the firing squad for a half hour and accepted blame for the Grizzlies' eighth-place finish in the Big Sky Conference – a 6-5 campaign that stalled after a promising 5-1 start – and the team's exclusion from the FCS playoffs.

"There's a lot of reasons why things don't go right but ultimately it's me," said Stitt, the Grizzlies' second-year head coach. "It's me. I've got to get it done."

More of that "credibility" of yours. Did Coach Stitt's confessions last Fall mean nothing? Did our final record prove something to you that no one else could see? Did our final loss, on our home field, in front of 26,000 shocked fans, to a team that had won just a single conference game all season, prove nothing? Is it the "Kingdom of the Deaf," or the "Kingdom of the Blind?"

I celebrate his final recognition of reality. He had no choice, but he did it honestly. I've been arguing for it for two years. He's a better man than you.
