Coach Sitts QB at Colorado Mines.

If past behavior does truly predict future behavior, Coach Stitt will be looking for someone like his two year starter at CSM. Take a look!

In his first 2014 game against SoDak Mines, Dvorak rushed 14 times for 37 yards including a 13 yd. TD.
He completed 31 of 46 his passes, including scoring throws of 49, 1 and 17 yds.
The Run offense scored on runs of 3 and 4 yds. (Besides Dvoraks 13 yder.)

Stitt had an assembly line of QB's at CSM, all growing and getting coached up from day 1. The QB position won't be a concern in a couple years.

Insert Willy Pflug here.....this kid is going to be special.

DITTO on that. We're all gonna be chanting WILLY WILLY WILLY in the next few years. The folks I talk to in the Athletic Department use that exact word..."special." They all say he fits into Coach Stitt's offense perfectly and has the speed and intelligence to run it efficiently. Let's hope they are right.

I am looking forward to the QB completion between Willy and Gresh. I got to watch Gresh on TV here a few weeks ago and was impressed.
Hopefully the QB position is wide open this next year.
So a thought, CSM being an engineering s school requires some solid grades to get in I would suspect. So that said the kids playing QB had to be pretty sharp rigt? Is there a remote possibility that some of the QB's we have on roster are not quite sharp enough for what Stitt is coaching? Don't get me wrong I am sure all those guys are smarter but maybe just don't quite get it?

Hammer, can you approve or deny what those in the athletic department are saying? Your input here would be appreciated. :thumb:

I don't think it is processing power, as much as it is processing speed.

You know who I would like to see for fun. Van Ack as QB. From what I have read, he seems to be a step ahead of everyone else in how quickly he processes what he sees. I think he was a QB in high school.

Just as an aside, Jason Semore the Griz Special Teams coordinator came from CSM with Stitt and Recruits: South Denver Suburbs / Southeast Texas / Oklahoma.

Two points: Before Stitt was hired, many interviews and articles appeared about his impact on various FBS programs. He was quoted as telling (more or less) the FBS coaches: "If the guys I can recruit can do it, the guy you recruit can do it." Now, he seemed to be referring mostly to athletic ability, but he also had to be referring to "football smarts."
Second: In that context, many teams have playbooks that are quite complex these days. So I'm not as concerned that the Griz can't recruit players to run Stitt's offense.

In the specific case of Simis ... perhaps having a coach for a father (said on eGriz, not my personal knowledge) is a disadvantage. He might have been so heavily drilled in a particular style/approach, he's had a hard time adapting to something different. (And that could be true no matter what the "different" style/approach was.)

I agree that Willy P has the talents to fit Stitt's offensive needs. At the spring game he impressed me the most
with his on field awarness. Looked very calm and composed. Made some quick decisions/throws. Made good pocket/roll out decisions. At the end several of us were chanting; Willy, Willy.

Willy looked very poised during the Spring game. I think he looked the part. I am certain he will make a very good push to be a starter next year or the year after.

Well, he did choose The University of Montana and he couldn't be happier with his decision. :thumb:

TCC and I were talking about this today. Willy is the man!!!!

He and Jensen both look the part. Jensen will likely redshirt next season. Can Pflug beat out the upper classmen next season?

I don't think Pflug will start until 2017, and that's if he beats out Simis, who will be a RS senior with a lot of PT. If he does, he'll be a three-year starter and then Jensen starts for two. I would not be shocked to see Chalich go to Carroll for his last year. His sister plays hoops there. Jensen is enrolling early like Pflug did and will be here for spring ball.

When Stitt was here in Havre this summer I asked him about Pflug. He said he he is indeed special, but has a long, long way to go, as far as the weight room and building up his strength goes.

During the Big Sky Basketball tournament this past spring, I sat across the aisle from Pflug. He was very small for a qb. After seeing him in person, I was surprised he could throw the ball with as much strength as he can. He reminds me a lot of Jordan Johnson when he was a freshman.
