Williams, apparently a friend of the JJ accuser’s Parents, apparently pushes Engstrom to fire Pflu and O’Day, and the weak Engstrom does. Williams calls Griz athletes thugs in the NY Times and national media. Sorry but I think Williams is or was an idiot. Glad the legislature tossed him out as a Regent. He, Gwen Florio and Engstrom have done more damage to UM than anyone in history, in my view.

I was not a big Pflugrad fan but do agree that he got shafted by Engstrom. Coach Pflugrad may have a hard time getting a HC position. I suspect any AD will look at his record at Montana and his termination. It may look like Pflugrad got canned and took the AD with him.

Same thing that happened to Ursa when he was selected to fulfill the term of that Idaho senator that choked on a peach pit during a toast, while attending an FFA event near Boise. Quite a scandal if memory serves. I was particularly interested in the connection to the Russian women that seemed to have been glossed over.

In this day of looking back over past conduct and judging it, one might consider Mr. Williams and the House Post Office and House Bank scandals. More critically, how about the mansion built with campaign contributions by a "Bunch of Folks for Pat." He showed how to make it big on a high school teachers salary and then political payola. He was (is) in no place to be the moral compass of the campus or anything else--nice guy or not.

He's hardly the first coach to have that happen. Yet he seems to be the only one not able to find meaningful work afterwords....YEARS afterwords...
