No one said he was perfect. BK is doing a nice job. Let's see if BK can manage games and win. I'm not concerned about that, but I don't chose and praise a coach based on what BK has done so far. That's part of the equation, but it's not a large part for me.
I didn't say there weren't great players returning. There are great returning players every year. But the amount of turnover (especially D) and coaches is unusual, especially for the Griz. He didn't inherit a team that was #3 in the nation. He inherited a team that WAS #3 in the nation...but will look materially different this year than last both in form and function.
Like you said, he inherited a team that was no. 3 in the nation. That's what I said. Not one that was 6-5 There is always turnover. The BK team is very similar to what Bobby would have had. No one left in the coach portal. A few after spring ball. I assume those had been cut or told they wouldn't play.
We can compare some off the field offseason stuff and so far, he is better at playing the PR game than Hauck was, in the aggregate anyway. What BK is doing right now in terms of promoting Grizzly Football, recruiting, leveraging social media, meeting with fans and QB club is actually quite impressive. He is really burning the midnight oil to make sure he is doing everything he can to do a good job, and that is very publicly evident in a way it was not with Hauck. Not saying he was not just as good, but he was perceived totally differently. To me he always expected stuff without having to ask for it or put in the PR work (shaking hands and kissing babies). Again, perception sometimes is reality, and the way BK is perceived, in my opinion, is that he really wants to be here and will do anything he can to make it work, and I really never got that feeling from Hauck 2.0.

As you expressed earlier (in this thread I think) there are concerns about the O-line, (purely in my mind from a "we haven't seen what they can do" standpoint)...I definitely think the talent is there. D will likely look significantly different with a new DC, new DL, and likely new system and not the 3-3-5...I went through the coaching changes several weeks ago with another poster and it was like 5-6 different coaches than last year...Kennedy moves from WR to HC, Justin Green gone, OL coach gone, Tim Hauck gone, Eric Sanders now DC, New DL coach Jaylen Johnson, New OL coach Brent Meyers, new RB coach Dominic Daste, New Safeties coach Wes Nurse.
