Nothing wrong with the way it is now. Our tax dollars are better spent on things other than HC positions.

Alpha, I believe you are one of the posters that continually complains if the Griz do not win enough games, or should move to a more visible D-1 conference, and then you spout this comment about not paying HC.

You should probably retract that comment, as it is wrong.

I never want the Griz to move to 1A, and it shouldn't even be debated until they get a playoff sytem. You cannot find one post of mine saying I want us to go to 1A. I also do not complain about winning games. I just don't care for a certain coaching staff and the way they bring us back to the pack.

I accept your apology.

Krystkowiak's complaints about the situation at Montana was the school's inability to offer more money and years. Montana has traditionally not been a high-paying job or a place where multi-year contracts are offered.

Coaches come ... and coaches go... wonder why...

Frankly Montana is not a very high paying state for a lot of jobs (not just coaching). The people that live here usually want to live here by choice. I work in the computer software industry and I could make a LOT more going out of state, but I choose to live in Montana because I like the quality of life here. This actually (not referring to Krysko in this case) can be a good thing as you get coaches here on there way up and are hungry (not in it just for the money).

Alpha, I apologize.

But also, now your dislike, for I am assuming Hauck, has turned you against paying a coach, Krysko, for what he has done for the Griz men's basketball program.

Larry also has the pedigree that cannot be had by anyone who hasn't been to the "big show". Sure there are plenty of good or even great coaches who never played in the NBA but having been there is definitely instant credibility and an advantage when it comes to leading young men dreaming of greatness. Whether he is a legend or not, his leaving is still a big loss.

We'd have more money for coaches in the WAC.

Where does that money come from..?

Will you pull more people in just because you are at WAC?

Do you think the legistlaor will give you more money because you are at the WAC.

More television money?

Were does this extra money come from?

Please. Let's not turn this thread into another one of those...

I also was hoping for one more year.
Thanks Coach for the good job...all the best.

Heard his wife is from Wisconsin and wanted to go home...also Coach's goal is to be a head man in the NBA...he's on the way.

Couple years down the road. . . Larry is head coach of the Utah JaZZ--yeah that's a Jazz uniform alright.

Larry leaving makes me feel like of lot of you did regarding Lulay:

Thank God he's gone!

I'm also really glad we got Huse before this all happened!

Congrats, Larry and good luck in the NBA.

While dropping a friend off at the airport this AM, I saw Coach K getting ready to fly somewhere. Tried to think of something clever to say, but opted to keep my mouth shut...which might have been a good thing!

Not a huge BB fan, but LK got me to a few games this past season. Sorry to see him leave. He did us proud.

hey guys and gals. just wanted to say i'm sorry you lost your coach. he seemed to be doing a lot of positive things for your program and turning it around. hopefully your new coach can keep the ship sailing in the right direction. not a real NBA fan and am only a casual Bucks fan so while i was happy they're bringing in a reputable guy, i was saddened that an up and coming mid-major had to suffer because of it. good luck next season.

The green and white uniform is fine, but the shirt needs to say "Celtics" on the front.

Dude, I don't care where your wife is from - Boston is calling!

When? He never complained, except about Kennedy!

Giving the job to Tinkle is the right decision. For one, he has earned it. Two, he is the best person available (to the UM) for the job. Three, it shows a smooth transition, particularly to our new recruits and the hosts of the Griz in tournaments, etc.

such as ....

please elaborate

Broadway diet.
Roundabouts.
dig-up,pave,dig-up,pave,dig-up,pave the same residential streets - over, and over, and over again (because street repair was scheduled to occur before sewer repair or whatever ).
Bike lanes, bike paths, loaner bikes.....etc,etc,etc.

Stupid Politicians! :finger3:

.....but Alpha's right.
multi-year contracts wouldn't make a difference anyway, it's like tenure....employment guarantees for incompetents.
Show me anywhere in the last 20 years that it would have made a difference. Nope, not Joe Glen, wyo had the money to out pay UM and it's all about the Benjamins!

You people didn't seriously think Larry would stay in Missoula, did you?

After 2 seasons in Purgatory, he had to move-on, just like any other good coach.

Bobby Hauck will be next!
