Coach Fish is let go

I heard he was getting the Wash St job.
You can't be serious. Washington State needs someone better than Fish.

As for Fish not being retained, I honestly have to say that I do feel bad for him. He's already had a rough year (death of his daughter) and this makes things rougher. Hope he can land on his feet somewhere and soon.

Remember, DeCuire and Fish came in at exactly the same time, five years ago. DeCuire immediately recruited Oguine, while Fish brought in Hall. I thought at the time, both schools had found their Coach. Both could recruit. This would restore the Rivalry.

DeCuire kept recruiting, building a solid program, but Hall did not keep up. And then DeCuire won the one recruit that Fish could not lose, and that would seal his fate: Mack Anderson.

I didn't even think of the Mack Anderson issue....

That became apparent to me during the tournament, when they could not mention Mack Anderson without saying he was from Bozeman, and how did the Cats let him get away. If Mack becomes the star we think he'll become, that will haunt them for the next three years.

Anderson was not recruited by the Cats. He was asked to Walk-on, and once the griz offered him, the Cats stopped talking to him.

His point exactly.   That's going to look like (and already is beginning to, for what its worth) a REALLY bad miss on Fish's part.

It wasn't his point...His point was that UM won the Battle for Anderson...MY POINT was that it was never a battle to begin with...None of it matters now, as Fish is gone, and Anderson seems happy where he is (and he should be).

It wasn't a battle. But it should have been. Decisions like that are why he's gone.

Yep...Even though Anderson is a weird case. He averaged about 5 points in 10 minutes of play a game his Junior year. Then between his Junior Year and Senior year, he really stepped up in AAU ball. When I first heard that he was offered a scholly by the griz, myself and a couple of my sports reporting buddies all kind of scratched our heads. I personally thought it was a big stretch that he could compete right away at the D1 level, and even had said that he needs to Grey Shirt for a year before even thinking of being on the team ( gain wait and learn the speed), hell, even his Dad said the same to me (don't want to sound like PR, but I have known his Dad through Business here in Bozeman, before he moved to Denver when TA was in High School) ...We were ALL WRONG, and the young man has really stepped it up, and now looks like the biggest miss in a long time...

Well, the jury is still out, but it's looking better each passing day...and remember, you can't teach height.

Danny sprinkle is a name I keep hearing. Think he’s the leader in the clubhouse.

We gotta do something. Hoops has been a disaster for over two decades.

Danny Sprinkle is an assistant at Cal State Fullerton. He's been there for 6 years. He was also an assistant at Cal State Northridge for 11 years and an assistant at MSU for 2 years. He should get the job.
