Good for him! Hope he does well! That's 2 assistants DeCuire needs to replace now with Anderson Clarke also leaving. Been a long time since he's had this type of coaching turnover. I'll be curious to see who he hires.

I like our coaches having playing experience. However, I don't think one needs to be a post player to recruit and judge an athlete for that position.
SoCal, totally agree. However, if you are being recruited as a big and all of the coaches are midgets, can't you assume that none of the coaches have the experience that you need to improve? All I am saying is that with a staff of all guard types, it might be beneficial to bring a coach on board who played taller than 6'3".
i have always thought that Brian Qvale would be a good choice. But I don't think he has any interest.

Looks like a good hire to me. He's been a head coach at 2 different JC's in So Cal and was also an assistant at D2 Cal State Dominguez Hills. This appears to be his first D1 coaching job, but can help us start to get back into SoCal a little more as most of our Cali guys these days are Bay area guys. Still got one hire to make as we have to replace Anderson Clarke as well.

A familiar coach from the NWAC is what we heard. Surprised it hasn't been announced.
Gee that’s helpful. There’s only like 30 teams in the NWAC. That really boils it down for us.
