What makes you think anything I have written makes this a gag?
 
When Coach D is ready to hang it up, I would take J. Souers or A. Thompson as a head coach. They showed how to make halftime adjustments and inspire their players...keeps the strong AZ recruiting ties as well. I think Jerome would come back too.

Like I have said, this will be KH's decision. If KH thinks that having a "lame duck" coach hurts recruiting, he will "pay off " Delaney's contract in a New York minute.

Coach isn't a lame duck and we are early in the season with many success stories to come. Coach is young by today's standards, thus, his contract will probably be extended by KH after he consults with his boss, Engstrom.
 
Engstrom tossed Pflugrad and O'Day under the bus to misdirect attention away from Engstrom's own failures and incompetence. Engstrom is now trying to promote a "tea and crumpets" persona on Griz football via his selection of coach Delaney and promotion of dumb advertisements and commercial interests over Griz football in WA Griz stadium atmosphere.

I was not a great fan of President Dennison, but would very much welcome Dennison back in a Griz minute!
This says more about Engstrom's incompetence than about Dennison's competence.

Griz fans will recognize Engstroms' deceptions, terrible decisions and management more in future years as Griz dominance over the Big Sky Conference fades into a memory. Us old timers, however, will know that Engstrom is at the bottom of this drop in Griz football tradition. Others such at regent Pat Williams, a huge supporter of Engstrom and critic of college football, are also to blame.

I lived through the Griz success of Jack Swarthout in the late 1960s', poor teams of the 1970's and early 1980's, and regret that this great era of Griz football created by Don Read is now being tarnished under Engstrom.

Perhaps it is understandable that many NEZ fans want to drink at halftime, rather than suffer through this. :roll:
 
Ranger you do understand it was Jim O'Day who selected and outsourced UM marketing to Learfield Sports to raise a few more pennies, well before Engstrom came along right? If you are unhappy with Griz game day, the commercialization of UM athletics, and how unimaginative and cookie cutter the marketing has become - well that all falls on Jim O'Days shoulders. Maybe Engstrom and Haslam can fix this mess they inherited from Dennison and O'Day.

Spanky trying to point out that Engstrom did not make the decision to go with Learfield, this was previous regime. O'day and Dennison brought in Learfield Sports and the resulting cookie cutter commercialization. When the contract is up Engstrom and Haslam have the option to go back to Montana based marketing. You can't blame Engstrom for the Marketing yet.

And it makes no sense at all to criticize him for both the marketing which people hate and for getting rid of O'Day, who is responsible for the "dumb promotions and commercial interests" that people hate. That was my point.
