Vining, a 5-foot-7 guard, was an honorable-mention Class AA all-state selection as a sophomore, and all-state pick as a junior after averaging 15 points and six assists per game on the Rustlers’ state runner-up team.

Vining’s mother, Marti (Kinzler) Vining, was a four-year letter-winner with the Lady Griz from 1987-91.

I have been watching her play soccer and basketball for the past 3 years and did not figure out Marty Kinzler was her mother until this past summer.

Now if the LG can finally get the job done on the road instead of the proverbial 'home court advantage' winning @ Dahlberg Arena primarily. Granted, ten players that are either freshmen and/or sopohomores but a little gut check should be in order. Especially when you're ahead at the half. Their playing careers didn't end when they graduated from high school; or do it?

And the LG are picked to win the BSC? Must've been reading the newspaper accounts again. MSU at least won. Riverside and Bakersfield? Why don't the LG schedule a high school jv team?
