"Clutch"/"Not Clutch"

My business partner reminded me of the following:

Sandwiched between Johnson's trey and [Montana State guard] Navarre's layup was a rare missed free throw by Griz senior guard Anthony Johnson. It was the second front end of a one-and-one Johnson had missed in the space of two minutes. Navarre made sure Johnson felt even worse.

"He said ‘You're not clutch, you're coming up short in all the big games,' " Johnson said.

My partner isn't the only one who remembers. In the process of putting up this post I googled Navarre and got this:

Great article in the Kaiman! I have been blessed in watching both Michael Ray Richardson & Anthony Johnson play Griz Basketball. At the time I did watch MRR I did not realize he was a Super Star, but now being older and wiser I have to put Mr. Johnson in the same catagory as Richardson! Been a Blast watching you Anthony! Keep it going in the Big Dance! You will definately need your supporting cast this time around though! Go Griz! Give em Hell! :clap:

I think that Marquise has great respect for AJ but up until that first game, Anthony had not been making his usual key plays late in the game and the Griz were struggling during a 3-4 game stretch.

He did do a good job of getting AJ's attention, which if your going to be a great player you can respond to. Obviously AJ turned it on when it mattered most.

It will be fun watching him play during March Madness.
