Yes. A joke, and a bad one at that. I continue to hope that, #1 - the new Big Sky Conf commissioner will make a sensible review of this travesty, or (and)... #2. - that post-season attendance in Boise will demonstrate the obvious need completely re-consider all aspects of a post-season tourney. As much as I love Montana hoops, I can see no advantage in driving to Boise for a post-season tourney. I'm going to stay home and battle the pixelated breakups & multiple screen-freezes of Pluto coverage.

The one good thing I see out of it is it takes all home court/true road game emotion out of the equation. With no fans there to feed off, there’s no chance of the host team letting their home emotions get the best of them allowing for the upset, or vice versa, no road team emotions feeding off the potential upset on the home court of the host team. A true neutral site allows for the team with the best skills to shine with less emotion involved, just pure ability. I know it’s a stretch for something positive but it’s the best I could do.

No brainer: For ALL sports, the Big Sky must develop a policy outlining minimal requirements for hosting any/all post-season tourneys. Any school incapable or unwilling to comply, must inform the Big Sky prior to conference play, every year.

I like Big Sage’s bid suggestion, but 2-3 schools have a huge advantage there, and although we’re one of them, honestly, I think the dirty pussies would be able to outbid even us most years. No thanks. That rewards money, not finishes.
I was thinking some kind of equation/rotation, where you have to earn enough points in recent seasons (ie most top 4 finishes in last 4 years, or each finish is worth a scaled-point and most points host). It would reward the most consistent program of recent years

But that’s the whole point of my rant, and the very reason the BSC started doing these shitty “neutral” sites.

About ten years ago or so, suc state was somehow on the cusp of winning the BSC regular season. But their gym is the shits and the Whittier 5th grade gym in Butte would be a better venue. They were talking about brining in folding chairs! Luckily the Griz saved the day.

So any solution must address this problem, first and foremost. I liked journal’s suggestions, but it just put us right back where we started.

Ironically, now that the bsc has moved to the neutral site tourney and killed interest in attending, Sac State's gym is now an adequate facility for holding the handful of family members that have gone to Reno the last few years.

Also, with Sacramento's population (over 500,000...about 40 million for California) and enrollment (around 30,000) at Sac State, you would think it would be easier to get $5-$50 from a lot of people towards a new facility than asking a few big sponsors to foot the bill.
