All you need to know about CMcD:

First play of the second quarter is a read option to the left side of the formation. Cliff gives it to Ostmo, who goes 40 for six. What I didn't realize until I rewatched the game is that Cliff was busting his ass down the sideline trying to get the last block for Nick. In fact at one point in the carry, he actually passed Ostmo.

Think maybe his teammates appreciate that kind of hustle, effort and leadership?

God I love this team.

He's had some great hustle plays that go unnoticed. I thought he was going to end up laying out a safety on that play. He's deceptively fast because of his size.

I think it has been brought up here, but it was Clif carrying out the fake on the read play against the Cats where Ostmo scored his final touchdown that helped spring Ostmo. He carried out the fake convincingly enough that it pulled the Saftey straight toward Clif - at least from the TV view, that was the only Cat player that would have had an angle on Ostmo.

yes. very true. in fact, earlier in the season he did NOT carry through with that fake and those runs weren't nearly as effective. He's been coached up, apparently, because it's gotten materially better.

Yep, i re-watched first half and saw it - unbelievable. Selfless, big heart, wants to win and will do anything he can to help. He's the kind of guy you want on your team.
