Class of '25 QB Decommits - Griz Offer

Change in coaching staff can often be a catalyst for recruits to de-commit and for existing players to transfer--that is probably the reason ot at least one of them that we picked up our new big run stopper DT Braydon Bailey, also of Utah State !!!

You should change your name to captainobvious.

I don't believe we have a QB in this class and, as we know, Bobby, like many coaches, prefers to have one in each. Dalton's only other publicized DI offer, outside of UM, is/was from North Alabama. Seems crazy for the 3A 1st Team All State QB with a 3⭐️ ranking. Especially since he committed to a full ride scholarship at an FBS school. Lots to scratch your head about. Would be a nice cherry on top next to the Colgate DT that's still undecided.

Our goal is to win the NC instead of beating Central Washington and Northern Colorado. Looking at teams like NDSU and SDSU, do we currently have a quarterback that we can honestly state is equal in talent to their quarterbacks?

No.

But then, you're talking about two of the greatest QBs at this level in decades. I'm not sure UM needs to have a QB on par with them, although it sure would be nice.

Also, if the status quo continues to hold, Central and noco are who we'll be facing in the "national" championship, so....

Bringing it closer to home, do we have a QB on par with Tommy Mellott? Maybe we will play Central Washington in the NC? We have gone from the Pacific Coast Conference to our current situation.

Can you tell me what the talent level is for the NDSU and SDSU starter in 2025?
Here’s my opinion and take it for what it’s worth. I’ve seen both play. Right now, Chase mason is qb1 for the jacks and Cole Payton is qb1 for bison and they also have a frosh who looks decent. Their qbs will be good but probably not on par with what gronowski and miller brought to the table. Those two guys were different level players.

I haven’t seen enough of either. Tommy was a special player. Mason and payton have a LOT of work to do to be put in the same category as Tommy or Miller. Who is gonna be qb1 for Griz? Is the USC transfer the man?

Some people aren't gonna like this, but unless they bring in another transfer, it seems to me like Ah Yat is gonna be the guy again this season.

Maybe Ah Yat, maybe Jenaen--we haven't even had spring ball yet so it's way too early to pick a starter. If Ah Yat does become the starter, he will have to do a lot better than his 7 TD's and 6 int's of last year !!!

Whether it's Ah Yat, Jensen or someone else, I think we can all agree that whoever is behind center next year for us, we want him to be successful, very successful so that we can improve on this year's record of 9-5 and second-round exit in the quarterfinals !!!

Do we have a QB as talented as McDowell is the question and I say yes. I believe that KAY will be a good runner, a better passer and make much better decisions this year based on his experiences this year and that he will have several games as the #1 to further his progress.
I see him showing up all the armchair naysayers on EGriz wrong and starting to really blossom by the 2nd half of 2025 which is when we'll need him.

We could have had Cam Miller as our QB this past season and even he wouldn't have been able to get us to the chipper because we don't have the O-Line.
