Our stellar showings in both the South Dakota game as well as the North Dakota game. One ball bounces the other way and it's a different game. Specifically, if North Dakota doesn't snap it through the legs of the qb we don't get a safety and lose 13-14. They also fumbled on the 6 going in to score. We also were not able to put the boots to South Dakota and had to rely on 3 turnovers to keep them at bay in a 1 score game. The games could have easily gone the other way. Don't pretend like they couldn't have.
UM controlled the SD game. UM gave up a late TD in the 4th. Otherwise it would have been a relatively easy 2 TD win. ND in fact got their bounce. They got the easy pick 6. While ND hung in there, and yes things can go wrong in close games, it was 15-0 late in the 4th with UM being largely in control--until ND eventually got a TD and then a pick 6. Had UM make its FG and extra point, and some say that the FG was actually good, then UM would have won the game without a FG at the end. The snaps by ND were bad, but they didn't necessarily cost ND any points. The UM defense was completely shutting down ND at those points of the game.
Had UM gotten pick 6's at the right times in the Wyo. and NDSU games, UM might have won those games. They didn't. Wyo. and NDSU successfully held off UM. They deserved to beat UM. Nevertheless, UM hung in those games, and with some breaks, the games would have been horse races at the end.
The big questions are whether UM's o-line can improve sufficiently, whether Henderson can get back to full speed, and whether the injury bug will eventually overcome UM. The defense is going to keep UM in most games and win some games. However, the offense needs to be better, help the defense, and score more points. We'll see. This is what sport is about. I will continue to root hard for the team and support the team. I suppose people like you will continue to have no faith and diss the team, and be bad fans.
