Chris Peterson to Tennessee?

It would be an interesting move. I'd love to see it. Does anyone have any friends or acquaintances in the know who could shed more light on the chances Peterson bolts for the SEC job?

I have some boys, but at the moment my wife has them on the mantle until I get the Christmas lights up.

Phatcat has said repeatedly that has the inside info and no, nobody's goin' anywhere.

WONT HAPPEN - Coach has a child with "special needs" that are being meet very well at Swedish. I worked with his wife briefly when he was in Portland. They love the NW & UW. Besides that's a step down for him. Tennessee is also struggling mightily to regain its previous form as a program. His got an extension through 2020 a few years back. Win the Apple Cup & expect the W Club to extend him another two/three years.

He's not leaving. Knoxville over Seattle? Lol..... my boys said no.

Time will tell if the folks in Knoxville are correct. The I-75 corridor from Chattanooga north of the Smokies? He probably doubles his salary his DC goes over a million, his OC the same and all the position coaches at least a quarter of a million? I think he does it because of his staff's future.
What makes you think that UT pays more than UW? I really doubt the budget at Tennessee is more than what the huskies have.

The ego of the SEC. Tennessee isn't going to let Alabama beat them in anything. If anybody gets close to Neyland Stadium, they immediately expand for example.
I stand corrected, the Pac12 is behind the Big10 and Sec in funds. I think it's priorities though.

The UDub buyout is an issue supposedly easily taken care of but I understand a few are looking at what happened when Peanut Nutt left Boise and went to Arkansas. Great talent and opportunities for somebody willing to go for it. Remember Saban questioning whether or not he wanted to go to Alabama?

I have three friends on the UW staff. Peterson is not going anywhere. End of story.
According to the college sports (espnU ) channel on XM radio the Tennessee AD has been in Seattle this week meeting with Peterson. Why would Peterson meet with another AD if he was not receptive to a certain degree?

IMO this will never will happen. Coach Pete is a west coast guy.

I find it interesting that he applied for the Griz head coaching job in the past while he was an assistant at Boise State and really didn't get a sniff.

Funny how life turns out, isn't it? I know Dennis has to be rather grateful he didn't get the Cats in 1982.

The SEC over the PAC 10? Pretty large pay differential.

Depends where you look- which school

So, nobody knows anyone on the staff who could confirm whether or not Peterson is jumping ship?

Being fired by msu was the greatest thing that could have ever happened to Sonny Lubick and Mick Delaney.

Legendary coach Sonny Lubick’s name will live on in CSU’s new on-campus stadium, thanks to a $20 million gift from an anonymous donor.

Athletic director Joe Parker said Friday that the Sonny Lubick Field name used at Hughes Stadium since 2004 will be placed on the new on-campus stadium, set to open for the 2017 season,

Lubick, Colorado State University’s most successful football coach ever, is “an institutional treasure and someone we should value at the highest level,” Parker said to a room full of about 150 Ram Club boosters and university staff at Moby Arena.

“One of the challenges with moving to a new facility is how do you keep the heritage and the connections to the past, and we had great connections and a great heritage,” Frank said. “And this was just a wonderful step, moving over the name Sonny Lubick Field and honoring one of the greatest coaches in the history of the university, somebody who really did change the trajectory of Colorado State athletics.”

PAC 12 and the SEC aren't even in the same league as far as support, game day environment, etc. It's not even close.

I know. Stanford, which one would assume from the outside looking in would be full of stuffed shirts, appears to be the best game day atmosphere of PAC 8 schools...12 now? I thought the league commissioner was going to pick up Texas...and another school that couldn't wait to join after Utah and Colorado did...

If true, will make for some interesting coaching changes.

Lots of truly dumb stuff posted on egriz but this has got to be the most baseless! I can not see coach Pete leaving the Huskies for any other college program in the country! He had opportunities to coach so called “higher profile” schools before he landed at UW. If and when he does leave the Huskies, it will be for an NFL Job (not likely) or retirement.
