Interesting. Thought he was too tall for that camp.

Good for Lider, but it seems like his chances of actually making the roster are somewhere between slim and none. The Hawks already have one of the best punters in the league (Jon Ryan, just signed a new contract) and one of the best kickers (Steven Hauschka). If nothing else, maybe it'll get Lider a look from some other teams.

Of course, I said much the same thing about Coyle's chances of making the Hawks' roster a few years ago, so what do I know?

Seems to me that when a kicker becomes successful in the NFL and gets that big money contract, they are one of the first to be waived due to salary caps. Lider, if he proves himself to the hawks, could be in a very good position to slide in at a cheap cost. Maybe not with Seattle, but somewhere.

While its great Lider is getting a shot, usually the Hawks bring in a kicker or two during the offseason and the fact he lives in the area probably played a role in the try out. Saw a twitter post that he actually lives closer to the Hawks facility than the hotel the rookies stay in. I doubt this will be the year the Hawks replace Ryan, but stranger things have happened. Good luck to him!
