I think it was a few days ago now, but I went over to Bobcat Nation to see what they had to say about Choach bailing. The threads were way too long to get through, so I gave up and clicked on one called something like "Characteristics of New Coach". Jesus. Quite the wish list! It was stuff like:

1. Defensive Genius
2. Master recruiter
3. Master player developer
4. Understands Montana and the "Rivalry"
5. Offensive Genius
6. Tough(?)
7. Proven winner as a HC

Et cetera.

Reminded me of an overweight neckbeard gamer requiring that his GF must have:

1. Perfect body
2. 9.5-10 looks
3. Super smart
4. Great job/comes from money
5. Great hair
6. Long legs
7. Only has eyes for me

If Coach Ron Ash isn’t on a plane to Bozeman, you hillbillies will have done worse with this hire than the prior 60+ years in the program. You can hope for “culture” all you want, but numbers don’t lie. New hire has a lot of ground to make up to match that record. Choach sure as shit failed at it.

Yeah it is funny the standards being thrown out there but we have done the same for coaching searches. But it is funny you’d think being the coach of Bozeman State Cats is like a better and more prestigious job than the Green Bay Packers or Dallas Cowboys.

I read an article that listed Jeff Fisher as one of the candidates, you know the guy who coached the St Louis Rams and Tennessee Titans... He coached in the NFL for gods sake. Granted he wasn't the best but NFL coaching experience > any other experience. He could instantly turn the kitties into a championship contender. Guarantee he's a better coach than Choad. Really hope they don't hire him. Hopeful that they hire Matt Lubick(OC for Nebraska). To my understanding their offense was garbage.

Choach 100%, unequivocally failed at matching Ron's record at MSU. Choach was undeniably a worse coach than Ash in terms of winning percentage. Numbers don't lie.

Gotta love the Bobcat mentality: "The coach that bailed on us twice in the last six weeks interviewed for a job your coach has no interest in, so there."

It appears the "culture" hasn't changed at all, they just lose more now than under Ron's leadership.

I don't read every post, so I don't know where this 'pre-season champs' started, but I have a theory. A spelling error occurred by someone, with fat fingers no doubt. The original intent was, perhaps, 'pre-season chumps.' :roll:

I can't imagine why not. With a resume that includes being the first MSU HC never to finish higher than T-3rd in the BSC since Earle Solomonson, Choach is undoubtedly just the spark to bring the Longhorns back from over a decade of mediocrity.
