HAS ANYONE HEARD WHAT CHAVEZ IS DOING THESE DAYS? I SEE WHERE A FORMER HIGH SCHOOL TEAMMATE OF HIS IS AN ASST COACH FOR MSU NORTHERN.
 
Last I heard he was in the CBA or whatever that league is called. He was playing in Idaho but got cut. Haven't heard anything since.
 
Chavez was not playing for the Idaho Stampeders. He was slated to play for the CBA team in either Great Falls or Butte, I cannot remember which. But regardless, both teams went under and no longer exist. Mike never got an opportunity to play. Last time I saw him, he wasn't doin anything except going to the rec to play ball. I haven't seen him down at the rec in a long while either though.
 
Leo Bull child is his former HS teammate who is coaching at MSU-Northern and I spoke with him in August and he stated Chavez was looking to get into coaching and teaching back in Browning or in general.
 
Good for him. There was a great article about Chavez in the Missoulian a while back. He has done some great things and I hope he continues to be a great role model.
 
Chavez was playing in the Latin league in Mexico until a month ago. I believe he was in Guadalajara. He's currently living in Missoula.
