From today's St. Louis Post Dispatch:
WAITING GAME FOR REYNOLDS
Running back Chase Reynolds may not make the final roster, but he finished the preseason secure in the knowledge that he did all he could. Last Saturday in Dallas, he caught one pass for 22 yards and carried four times for 19 yards, including a 4-yard touchdown run.
Against Baltimore, Reynolds carried eight times for 48 yards. He appeared destined to score another touchdown, but was ruled to have fumbled on the Baltimore 1-yard line after a successful replay challenge by Ravens coach John Harbaugh with 2 minutes 6 seconds left to play.
The play never should have been challenged because the referee’s whistle blew — which ends the play — before the ball came out.
"It did (blow), but you’ve still got to leave no doubt about it," Reynolds said. "You’ve got to hold onto the ball and that was a mistake."
Reynolds, who was on the Rams’ practice squad for about half of last season, now must sweat out today’s final cuts.
"I think I played as hard as I could and I left it all out there," he said. "So in the end that’s all you can ask for. So whatever happens, that’s the way it’s supposed to go."
