From today's St. Louis Post Dispatch:

WAITING GAME FOR REYNOLDS

Running back Chase Reynolds may not make the final roster, but he finished the preseason secure in the knowledge that he did all he could. Last Saturday in Dallas, he caught one pass for 22 yards and carried four times for 19 yards, including a 4-yard touchdown run.

Against Baltimore, Reynolds carried eight times for 48 yards. He appeared destined to score another touchdown, but was ruled to have fumbled on the Baltimore 1-yard line after a successful replay challenge by Ravens coach John Harbaugh with 2 minutes 6 seconds left to play.

The play never should have been challenged because the referee’s whistle blew — which ends the play — before the ball came out.

"It did (blow), but you’ve still got to leave no doubt about it," Reynolds said. "You’ve got to hold onto the ball and that was a mistake."

Reynolds, who was on the Rams’ practice squad for about half of last season, now must sweat out today’s final cuts.

"I think I played as hard as I could and I left it all out there," he said. "So in the end that’s all you can ask for. So whatever happens, that’s the way it’s supposed to go."

Unfortunately the Rams drafted Isaiah Pead out of Cincinatti in the 2nd round this year. Chase really outplayed Pead this preseason. I feel like this decision is based dollars, cents and potential and not production and versatility.

Thanks everyone for all the support! Didnt end up making the final cut but thats not the end of the road... If I clear waivers, I'll sign to the practice squad and have a great opportunity to be moved up.. At this point its just a numbers game... Just want to express my gratitude to everyone of my supporters, It means alot to have you guys in my corner and know that theres a reason to represent where I came from... Thanks to everyone.

Big bummer, there hasn't been a Griz I wanted to make it more. This message kind of says it all about the guy, doesn't it? Hopefully he'll pay his way out of practice squad world - worked for Colt!

No, he didn't. That said, Chase hopefully makes the practice squad.

Lex gets cut also...they kept a back who had a bad ankle all pre-season and rushed for 100 yards against the backups in their last game

Who "outplayed" who depends upon your point of view. Team preseason stats:
Pead: 33 touches (25 rush, 7 recpt, 1 ret) for 60 yards. 1 TD
Chase: 10 touches (8 rush, 1 recpt, 1 ret) for 51 yards. 1 TD

Pead saw much more action and averaged 1.8 yards/touch.
Chase got much less playing time, but gained 5.1 yards/touch.

Chase was also 19th on the team in tackles with 4 all on special teams. (Tru was second on the team with 13)
