Hmmm.....maybe the are in a very dry walk in freezer getting a taste on December in missoula.

But you can compensate for cold with extra clothes, noise with silent counts...but not for the effects of coming from sea level to 3200 feet

Bet they lose their legs a bit in second half, then cold and noise will get in their heads

SDSU did not have a problem at NAU.....I would be more worried about trying to catch said balls with cold hands...much more difficult

The oxygen question has bugged me every time I have read about it being a factor for sea level teams. This is what my crack research team found for me using google search:

Oxygen at 3200 ft is roughly 18.5% versus about 21% at sea level. Depending on what numbers you have your monkey plug into a calculator, there is about 89% the oxygen available in Missoula relative to sea level. Make what you want of those numbers, but I
don't think it's a major deal for fit athletes. Granted, every little bit of home field advantage counts...I just think it gets overblown in my opinion

oxygen exists at 21% everywhere in our atmosphere. doesn't change with elevation. what changes is atmospheric pressure, which has an effect on how much oxygen can bind to your red blood cells.

So is this a boring science thread or a hilarious thread about a team from Carolina playing with their cold balls?

Do you think they will have Schweaty Balls too?

One of the best SNL skits ever.

I cant help but notice that Schweaty's balls are mishapen. This is due to the fact that he rested them on the stove to long.

This could be rectified by sticking said cold hands down the front of their pants, assuming the balls were not cold. Hmmm, interesting dilema, should the coach go for cold balls or cold hands?

Ha. Nice one Tokyo. Sounds like he needs some vagisil. Imagine football being played outside in cold weather. Crazy talk I tell you. Crazy talk.

There is no science that is boring. Politics is boring.
