championship game thread!!!

Look at it this way folks:

The bulldogs and the griz are in the BIG DANCE!

Unless they're playing eac other, I'm going to be rooting for both because they're local teams. We'll know who's right about all this over/underrated stuff in a little over a week.

Until then let's just talk about what has been decided.

but how can you even see if he is hot when he is in 3 mins and takes one shot, you can't expect many players to have much of an impact in 3 mins.

I aggree. Martin doesn't get enough time to determine whether or not he's hot or not. Hell, against EWU (in the semi) he was our hottest player in the first half, and he didn't see the floor in the 2nd half. Makes me think Coach doesn't give a damn how he plays -- just playing him token minutes to keep him happy. I still think this Griz team was a better team with Martin playing 25 minutes a game (like early in the season) than they are now. Sure seems like he's paying a pretty severe penalty for that shot at the end of the UW-Milwaukee game. You can't tell me that didn't affect his playing time. Things haven't been the same since.

There is no reason to compare the Griz and Zags. The Zags played 6 or 7 top 50 teams and we played none. They deserve to be top 10 and we deserve to be where we are at till we toughen up our schedule.

He looked happy and cheering on the bench, which is a good sign, but I'm sure he isn't happy about this. For the griz' sake, I hope they don't lose him[/quote]

Whatta fun game!! The Griz played hard/physical, and with the heart of a champion tonight. They defended their BSC tournament title very well, and now they are repeat champions. Well deserved!

Huge kudos to the coaches, team, and Mathews and Hasquet in paticular. Everyone had thier moments (how about Chavez's 3's), but those two players were instrumental in the W. They were aggressive offensively, and Jordan (a FR) was a monster on the boards (offensive and defensive). He grew up in a hurry (last two NAU games). 3 more years of him is exciting.

I am happy Virgil got the MVP, but Hasquet was right there as well!

Man, if you would have told us before the game that Criswell would go 2-11 from the field (0-5 three pt, and 0-2 free throws), and Strait would go 3-9 (0-1 free throw)...I think I would have been worried.

But, others tookover and "It's all Good!"

We could work on our free throws however, we went 10-20.
