Interesting. Wasn’t the rumor that CWU would be applying to make the move to D1 in the next couple of years? The natural landing spot would be the BSC. I guess he saw his chance to move up and can’t blame him. A downgrade when you move from Ellensberg to Cheney, but neither is heavenly.

I think Best would either take a demotion, or be fired before moving on from EWU. Dude has been with the program for 21 plus years. But I do think he did hire his replacement in Shoemaker if it were ever to come to it.
