Farley is unusually quiet in post-game comments. Sports page gives scant love for the GRIZ.

Farley wasn't willing to give his defense a pat on a back, either, despite a performance that limited a Grizzlies team used to running 85-plus snaps to 65 and holding them to 206 total yards. It was also a performance that saw the Panthers hold the Griz to just three second-half first downs.

That total yardage statistic was skewed, Farley pointed out, because it didn't include one thing -- punt return yards. UNI gave up 113 punt return yards, including an 81-yard runback for a touchdown by Jerry Louie-McGee that made it 17-7.

That's because he can't blame this loss on Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Makes the win all that much sweeter for me.

Lock this thread. There was a comment. Lock it up.

I think you are a little confused. Threads only get locked immediately after PR gets the last word. Try and keep up.

Farley sounding more and more like a sore loser. Note he should not be grining but no credit to the Griz? He can get even, first game in 2018 in our house.

After reading that it gives me even more confidence in this Griz team....people arent giving UNI defense Credit but that D is GOOD....they held us to essentially 30 less plays than we try to run, thats a huge difference.

Being able to win in other areas of the game like special teams is huge....the Griz teams of the past used to win game this way also when need be.....

Im excited.

I don't know about that - It looks like Farley has expressed his respect for the Griz:

•Key matchup: UNI's defense against Montana's up-tempo, no-huddle offense. Will the Panthers be able to get off the field in a timely fashion without allowing points and will they have fresh bodies to sub in?
•UNI coach Mark Farley: "They are well-coached and they have a great scheme and they are going to be a four-quarter football team."

Montana's hurry-up attack is a little different, says UNI head coach Mark Farley, whose team will host the 14th-ranked Grizzlies at 4 p.m. Saturday inside the UNI-Dome.
"It's going to be one of those nights where lock the doors, the ball is going to be thrown around a little bit," Farley said. "It will be a great football game and I wouldn't expect anything less.
