Cats v. Davis Game Thread

You obviously are ignorant of EWU-UM.

We are their rival, your Shi__y Kitties 😸 are not nor are any other Big Sky schools. Eastern has no in-state rival and Idaho has been back in The Big Sky less than 10 years, so being only 200 miles apart with NW Montana and Washington defacto neighbors separated only by 100 miles of Idaho panhandle, we are Eastern's MSU.

Combine that rivalry with no bye week for us, unlike MSU and Eastern and everyone else in The Big Sky and, at least partially as a result, 4-5 DB's out for us, and a very talented freshman Eastern QB that had played very little if at all until this game including against MSU--no film, and we had the recipe for a nail biter.

The only close games we've had are with a good ND and a scrappy Eastern. While officially, we beat Idaho by something like 11 points the game wasn't that close--Idaho scored their final TD with 17 seconds left in the game as Coop and Tim pulled our starters late 3rd early 4th to try to keep them healthy due to not having a bye--we were ahead something like 42-17 when we pulled our starters And we sure didn't play down to the competition yesterday in Portland !!!

MSU has one rival--us. We, Da GRIZ. have 3: Eastern, Idaho ( Little Brown Stein)--at least partially why ESPN 2 broadcast the game this year, and your Bobcats.

Oh yeah, Eastern is now 4-3 Big Sky and 5-6 overall. The Eagles ain't great this year but they also are not terrible, especially in the second half and now with Schakel @ QB.

I watched the game with EWU. I saw the Griz come close to losing. The Griz even with injuries, has way more talent than EWU Rivalry or not, should not have been close. My point was, ,games like that happen. Doesn’t mean the Griz are a bad team. It was just not their best that day. Overall the Griz have an excellent team. I think you are over reacting.

The EWU game was piss poor coaching. We should’ve done to them what we did to PSU. Instead the coaching staff decided to play Bobby Ball and it almost cost the game

And I think, with all due respect, you're under reacting, looking at this game through your Bobcat filter. Eastern is a far better team, at least at this point in the season then they were when they played MSU, they have a very talented young QB, they were understandably pissed due to losing their best player and All-Big Sky and All-American Michael Wortham to us, their kids were chirping at Michael throughout the game, and I have been to our games, both in Cheney on that God-awful red turf and at WA-GRIZ--including homecoming games, where Eastern upset us.

I have been to some of those games and you as an MSU fan, have not. We are Eastern's Super Bowl, their arch rival, your Bobcats are not, add in their very talented unknown QB, our exhausted and beat-up team due largely to not having a bye, and the fact they hate us more than normal because they think we " stole" Wortham from them, and the result was Eastern playing way up against us--kudos to Coach Best, Jake Schakel, and the rest of The Eags. : ) !!!
