Cats Losing Players

Not trying to change the subject here, but I took a look at Idaho’s forum last night for the first time in awhile. They’re saying they’ve lost 29 underclassmen and counting so far. Now THAT is an alarming number.

Rats know when a ship is sinking.

I am not a fan of MSU, but they are doing something right in Bozeman. They have beaten UM twice in a row.

Really I don’t know if it was the Cats doing something right Or the Griz doing a lot of things wrong!! I am hopeful that trend turns around.

hmmm, did not know that. I guess I'm not as interested in the MSU rivalry as I am Idaho. Though, I guess MSU is doing something right while the verdict is still out on UM.

If you read the post, I said explicitly that Calhoun did NOT leave the program because of the portal. He JUST left!!!

I am no fan of the portal, but this thread is ridiculous and J.C. was a reminder that kids leave PROGRAMS, griz included for a variety of reasons, some are portal driven, others don't like the coach, others...just quit!

Right, but the whole point of this thread is that an unusual volume of players have left MSU, especially kids that haven't been there very long, and Jeremy Calhoun leaving because he couldn't get a redshirt doesn't make your 10 or so departures in the last year normal.

I've actually heard rumors MSU is considering dropping football all together. The amount of players leaving the program every year is staggering and has never been seen before. These huge numbers are said to be a direct result of coaching and no other factors.

I don't have the exact numbers but I can only assume MSU has 20+ players leaving to warrant such actions by our president. This is truly the worst period ever in the history of Montana State football.

It's a shame too because I was liking our current trajectory. Shit.

No doubt. Cats losing all their key players.... including starting QB (Rumor is that coaches are moving him to LB of all things), coaches, beginning of a long downward spiral. Well it was fun while it lasted.

Add Sparaco, their Colorado Transfer, to that list as well as he announced his transfer too. They also lost their SEC transfer Maleek Barley who they seemed ecstatic about when they landed him last year. That seems like a lot of talent out the door in a short amount of time.

Add their other very talented and sought after DT, James Williams, who cats fans reported on this thread was staying.

I wasn’t trying to be a smart ass BS33. Legitimate question. Are some players leaving because of Grogoraks departure? This kid sounded like he was iffy when he originally signed, so maybe there is no correlation. Just seems like a lot of departures and this is probably not exclusive to MSU with the portal. Just curious.
