Cats hire new OC

Not really concerned about coach Ash. Like I said he is doing just fine and building a stronger team each year. It appears you Copper are the one getting your panties in a knot. Do you really think your scrutiny has merit?

You Cat fans need to be honest about your recent success. It is mostly due to somehow finding Denarius. Without him, you enjoy the same yearly melt-downs against nobodies that you have had over the past 20 years. I am not impressed with your overall program. Denarius is the difference. When he is gone, you will return to the Cats we know and love. Remember, UM would have beaten you last year if JJ had played. Enjoy your little one-year run, while we re-tool. I am sure you will be talking about it for years to come. Cause it will not happen again, starting with our win in Bozo-town this fall.

Special K, the last time I looked it takes 11 players to win a game. Yes Deanrius is a great player and leader but it still takes a team to get the job done. I give Coach Ash and his staff credit for finding and recruiting Denarius. He is an example of the stronger recruits he has broguht in each year. Ash has built a strong foundation. While we will miss Denarius we will be just fine.

You are deluding yourself thinking that Ash is bringing in better players. Your Texas connection was because of an assistant coach, who is long gone. You are salivating about winning the in-state recruiting war this season. Two things. This is a down year for Montana high school football, so the recruits you think are so great will not be so great. Second thing. Montana is having the best out of state recruiting season it has had in many years. These are better players than were available in Montana high schools this year.

Bottom line is, when Denarius leaves, the Cats will return to being the Cats, in their rightful place as pretenders to the dominance of the Montana Grizzlies program.

Being the 19th winningest coach in history at all levels does not indicate a coach that is not driven or vanilla. He has improved the Cat program steadily each year both record wise and especially recruiting wise. He is on his way to another very strong recruiting year which addresses the weaknesses we had last year. So the program is still getting stronger. Yes, I would like us to go all the way to the NC and I think it will come. I will take the 10-2 record too. Like someone mentioned it sure beats 5-6.

50-22 is 19th at all levels? Wonder where Bobby ranked on that list when he was at Montana?

Damn, 50-22 is 19th at all levels? Where did Bobby come in on that list when he was at UM?

Look at his career record! Bobby can't hold a candle to Ash's record!

226 career wins is good for 19th place. I suspect he'll go for the big 300 before he retires.

Lets try to at least be a little objective here. I'm pretty sure them having a defense with the Big Sky Defensive POY and the Buck Buchanon winner had something to do with their recent success. You should be impressed with their overall program, outside of them not having a very good OL or a star receiver, they had a pretty damn good team last year.

Special K for your information we still have a pipeline in Texas. In fact, we have commitments of a couple of super players from Texas this year. We have two asst. coaches from Texas. Our out of state and in state recruiting has been especially strong this year. We have some great kids coming in. Your statement about this being a down year in Montana is incorrect. The in- state players we recruited are very good and the Griz went after them too.

Special K you are the one deluding yourself about the Cat program. I know it helps you feel better about yourself. The bottom line is the Cat team will be stronger than ever this year. When DM leaves after this year we will still be very strong. With the conference expansion and some of the other programs getting much stronger the Griz will not dominate like they once did. If you can bring yourself to look at it objectively you will see that the conference is moving toward much more parity!

Holy shi... You are delusional. The Griz run of dominance is looooong gone. Deal with it.

You guys have a booger slurping fossil for a HC and have the gall to be critical of anybody else's coach

 And WE'RE the ones that are delusional????

I'll give the Griz some credit for recruiting some pretty dam good players this year....on paper anyway....the same can be said for the Cats!!! Of course it won't matter in 2013 though, since all but a couple will redshirt....I have a hard time believing that the stud H.S. DB's will replace Hermanson & Co. right away....if ever!! And the elephant in the room is the QB situation which is sketchy at best...a lot of very knowledgable Griz posters have stated that JJ will never take another snap!!! We shall see!!!

I also think we should find some common ground in paying particular attention to that EW outfit out of Cheney.....they have been and currently picking up some top notch recruits....for the life of me I can not understand why a kid would choose to go to school in that $#@*hole with the red turf....even with a 5-6 football team the social scene with some skanky hippie chicks would trump any college experience that the Havre-on-the-desert could claim!!!

Putting EWU in Cheney would be like putting U of M in East Missoula.

If would think you Griz fans would more worried about your own coaches than the Bobcat head coach. Ash is doing just fine in building a stronger team each year. You have a head coach coming off a losing season and just one year left and the future unknown.
What makes you think UM fans and alumni aren't? We see a great recruiting season happening, but know we are stuck with the "leadership" that was so poor last year. The next season could be the greatest in UM history or not....we are still UM and you are still..whatever, "also rans"...Many of us cannot wait for Idaho to become the natural rival they were. MSU is a sad replacement, but usually a sure win...
