You get $300K, pay NDSU $100K, and Monmouth $200K.
The only thing you could argue making money is the extra Monmouth game at home.
But you didn't need to drop the NDSU game to do it. Even if Monmouth couldn't come, there surely would be another FCS that wouldn't need $200K guaranteed.
Just stick to the "We want to give Denarius and Co. a Texas game (even though we already have one)" or the "We want to play a tougher team (even though NDSU is arguably better)" reasons that actually (kind of) hold water. :thumb:

There is no question this is also about DeNarius and the Texas boys getting a game in their state too, but it is also about the cash and the positives that come from the 6th home game. That's exactly what UM would do so there is no need to paint it any other way. This is not about being "afraid of NDSU"...

I won't comment on whether or not it's a legit reason, but stop throwing the money argument around like it has any weight. At best, you saved $100K.

Hell, NDSU could have paid you a $250 guarantee also, the things is, we shouldn't have had to. You see, we traveled to play you in 2005 and paid our own way. You see, that's why they call it a home and home.
If this was such a great financial deal for MSU, then they should peel off an extra $100 (on top of the buyout) and hand it to NDSU. At this point, finding a game for NDSU is looking like a big struggle.
