For all you cat trolls that spend the majority of your time on eGriz with envy. Her is a comment that you can respond to. Rob Ash, the second coming, is 1-4 against the Griz. If he were to be a coach for say Michigan or Ohio State and had that record against his most storied opponent he would be fired.

At Wa/Griz this year he will end the year 1-5 against the Griz. Your envy and continued posting will then probably increase on eGriz.

I really don’t understand the motivation of Cat fans coming on eGriz and talking smack. I guess it is their only recourse. “We can’t beat them on the field so we will beat them with words.”

Why wouldn't we be envious? Seriously. Right now there are 7 people logged in on the Nation; here there are upwards of 50. You have a great site.
Next, the Griz are the pride of the Big Sky right now. Semifinal appearance. Nearly had the wind. Who wouldn't be envious of that?
Why do you act so shocked when Cat fans view the board? Every Cat viewer is a sign of respect for what you have going on here. Shouldn't a master be proud when his apprentice admires his work?
We can learn a lot from this site.
Specifically, how to alienate others. The way you are treating Cat fans is exactly how one would behave if he desired to be hated. I will strive never to do that on the Nation. Thank you for the lesson.
Finally, I think all people are drawn to the spectacle of rash acts and destruction. When driving on the highway and one sees a myriad of flashing lights beside the road, he is inclined to slow down and "rubberneck." What is the driver looking for? Certainly not a severed hand or other such gruesomeness. To see such a thing is frightening. However, all driver's still look, anticipating that moment when they see the blood on the highway. It's instinct, the spectacle of destruction. On this site, Cat fans are never disappointed. We lie in wait, anticipating the next insult and wondering just how far you will go in brandishing your greatness and exposing our lack thereof. We are never let down. I chuckle as I type. "Beat them with words." Clever....perfect.

Cat fans are a confident bunch. Last night I got the Griz +11 for Griz/Cat game. "C" note. :thumb:

I think bad mouthing Mr. Ash is pretty silly. He's done a great job turning an utterly dismal program into a competitive team. The results speak for themselves.

This is unmitigated dog-s**t:

As long as the 1 is against the Griz 1-10 is a great season for the kitties.

Whoever took that bet doesn't know shit about college football. Wow you have half of next years season seat paid for and this year isn't even started. Impressive!!

I did some "time" on the MSU campus getting some engineering credits during summers. I like the place. I have many good friends there.

I have been somewhat taken aback at the vehement hostility of Bobcat fans when "the Griz" come up. I mean, good grief, you're having a nice pleasant conversation, someone says "Griz" and the temperatures go way up.

Since I don't feel that way, its weird to be in a one-sided conversation where grown men talk -- like last season about being "the NEW POWER" in Montana, that the Cats were "taking over" because of the "Power Shift!" Oh my gosh. I'm sitting there "well, yeah, I guess we'll see how it turns out," and hearing raised voices in response "WE KNOW HOW ITS GOING TO TURN OUT!"

Whew. The best you can do to stay friends is try and change the subject.

Aside from the fact that hubris is a humbling experience, it just seemed, and seems, to me something more than a rational football rivalry for Cat fans, that is not reciprocated to nearly the same degree of obsession as Griz fans.

Interestingly, as well, not nearly as much among the student body as among alums.

Ash has been a pretty good coach; he gets the respect of the players, does a good job with them. He sounds reasonable during interviews. I think Mike Kramer got a raw deal, as I think Pflugrad did. I've never seen a Philosophy Chair get canned for what departmental students, or faculty, did off campus, but I guess that's the nature of sports.

The rivalry was barely on my radar before I moved to Bozeman. That really opened my eyes. People are consumed by it here, and having to deal with that ALL the time has started turning me into a Cat-hating dick in return. You'll meet new people, someone will mention that you're a Griz fan, and odds are good that they'll immediately turn on you and act like rude assholes

They've had to endure a lot.

I agree and I think it really annoys Griz fans that at a game other with the Griz, Cat fans have started chanting "Eat-S#!7-Grizzlies-Go-Cats-Go"! That behavior alone buys Cat fans a whole lot of bad will.

How many Cat games did you take in last year when that was going on? As someone who was at these games, I didn't experience it . . . but whatever it takes to make you feel better about dishing "bad will" I guess.

Since I moved to Billings, I go to a fair amount of Cat games and there is a dude that burns a plush Monte bear before EVERY game.

watching the Youtube makes me realize Griz almost play better at Bozeman than in Msla. Griz own that place. You don't see ass kickings like that everyday.

We don't base our season on beating the Griz. Sure sounds like you do though.

Most of your fan base does. Your students certainly do

And yours don't? I think I remember when the Cats beat the Griz in hoops in Calimissoula 3 years ago where your students were chanting (Play us in Football - really classy to the Griz bball team). That didn't work out well for the Griz football team that next year :)

It's a rivalry. If its too intense for you ... switch sports and follow figure skating :)
