Well, He didn't ruin him. I agree it is probably more to do with Josh being Josh. I happen to think Vigen is a good coach and don't think we should keep underestimating him.

I question if Josh Allen was really developed. He's either really good or he's a train wreck, which is why he ended up at Wyoming. What's the development?
As for Vigen, I don't underestimate a thing except I hate bobcats and every time I drive by bobcat stadium in San Marcos I take the opportunity to wave at it with one finger and proclaim, FTC!

I have no clue what the development was. I just asked the question assuming The OC and QB coach would have a thing to do with the development. However, looking at numbers from Wyoming they didn't scream 1st round.
However, I think you are probably more right about Josh Allen falling into him. Vigen probably does best when he has a smart QB who can manage a game and doesn't turn the ball over. Outside of Allen I wasn't able to find a prolific passer that he has coached or even a prolific passing offense that he has run. Run the ball and manage the clock.

Josh Allen was a massive developmental project when he got to the NFL, and was pretty awful his first season.
There is a reason that NFL scouts and analysts refer to him as a modern NFL miracle.
He became one of the best QBs in the world after he got to the NFL, definitely not before.

Jones is averaging 3.1 per carry, 44th in the conference. Gillman is averaging 9.1, first in nation.
Jones is 2d leading receiver with 11, and 1 TD.
Gillman is 4th in nation in rusihng per game, with 133.

Every game played is proving me more right. Vigen was gifted a very talented group of players. He had a couple of years to prepare for the loss of that senior group and so far has shown that he does not have the developmental skills, recruiting acumen, or the coaching chops to be elite. That Mercyhurst game was pathetic. For all of the bobcat fans pounding their chest about the shut out…give me a break. The defense was incredibly lucky Mercyhurst didn’t kick field goals. That game would have been a much different story. This guy was born with a horseshoe up his ass - OC during the NDSU dynasty run, Josh Allen as QB, coach at an ascending program with a loaded roster.

At Big Sky High i had a Montana history teacher, Mr Womack, that was a big scat fan and normally a super big jokester. One day a student said in class that his family drove through Bozrman over the weekend. Teacher asked him if he said hi to any body there. He said he waved with his middle finger as they passed. Teacher sent him to the principals office

That was the whole point. It was one game into the season for us and two games for the cats. I didn’t even offer my analysis of our running game in general. I would take Gilman over Jones any day of the week and twice on Saturdays, but there are many more factors to that equation than just individual capabilities. I recognized how special Eli was the first game he carried the rock in 2022 and am grateful he is still in Missoula.

A former Cat starting OL, who goes to all the games, told me that OL is not as good as it has been in recent years. The expectations of Cat fans for the OL are very high due to the high quality in recent years. Some fans are spoiled (my word not his), and, of course, Tommy is gone. That doesn't mean the Cats don't have good potential, and there are other ways to win.
I don't know. Let's have a few conference games out of the way and let's see how the OL improves
Even last year they would have been overmatched vs. Oregon

I will take the word of the former starting Cat OL, who is not very old, and follows the team closely, over anything you say. Maybe you ought to pay more attention to people who know what they are talking about.
Same. I think we should wait until the season is over to assess the BobOL. Throw out the worst 5 performances for accuracy, emphasize the best performances, and we'll get an idea of how good the group is in time for the Groundhog Day Triangular.
That doesn't contradict anything I said. Trey Lance was the 3rd overall pick and was even more of a developmental project.

You need to see a few more conference games before you know if this year's OL is as good the OL's of the prior years? Okay, I assume you don't know much about OL play or football. Why don't you just ask someone close to the program? My guess is that no one close to the program would say this year's OL is as good as the ones in recent years. You must know someone close to the program. I think your original comment is about as dumb as they come. While the Griz has some fans who don't know much or anything about football, it sure seems that there are alot more Cat fans in that category.
