You can say FTC till you're blue in the face and black in the heart, but I for one am happy to see the Cats present a challenge. It takes the guts out of a rivalry when one side is not up to the challenge of it.
I've been dismissive of the Cats and their coach, and still feel Fish is up against one of brightest young lights in the coaching business in DeCuire. But remember: Tyler Hall is a Fish recruit; Harold Frey is a sly accomplished point guard; Devin Kirby is an up and coming big man, whom the Cats stuck with through an injury-filled high school career; and Zeke Quinlan is showing promise as a true freshman at forward. This team has some talent, and I am glad of it.
If you want to fill those seats at Dahlberg, bring in challenging opponents, as we did back in the Nevada, Boise State or even old Skyline Conference days. Challenging matchups are what make for good fights, and good basketball games. So good for the Cats. This should be fun.
