Cat Fans, WTF?

OK, I have talked with numerous cat fans this week and today, all clad in cat gear, and when I have asked them if they are going to the game I have been either met with, "What game?" or "Nah, not going."

I know your team isn't great, but they are doing better than expected this year and it's a f@cking rivalry game! I hope you at least fill most of the seats for this one. It was pretty disappointing to hear that from so many cat fans. Before you say they are fair weather fans, one for sure I know and he is a booster and has bobcat crap all over the place. At least get up for one game a year, sheesh.

We'll see the attendance for the men's game, but the women's game had 300+ more than last year.

I had the same convo with a "huge" griz fan in helena today. He had no idea cat/griz bball was tonight. Bball in montana just isnt a big deal at the moment.

Guess not. I just expected the fans in Bozeman to actually want to go. The apathy for a rivalry game sucks.

Unfortunately you are correct and the talent pool in high school is really diminishing. I think bball in this state is dying fast. The small towns are not producing the players they once used to. Why. Not positive, but I think a big part of it is 1. Poor Coaching and 2. computers/smart phones. Kids have other interests. Sad for me to see because I really love the game. The teaching profession is going to be in big trouble over the next decade since so many older ones will retire. New teachers can't afford to stay in Montana and pay their school loans with the low salaries. Don't see many new coaches coming up and we could be in for a real sh*t show by the time we are done.
