His mother and Jordy Tripp's mother are sisters. Given the Tripp family legacy at Montana, I'd say it's safe to assume he's a Griz fan.

I wonder about the comment about the last Class A player to win the award since McMillan in 2007 is just referring to football? I know Derek Selvig won it for basketball in 06-07 season also over a stacked class that included Bobby Howard and Tyler Hurley.
