Nice article on Carp, who was my next door neighbor when he was in Missoula. No question that he will be integral to the Bills success this year.

Only reference in the article that I take issue with is the indication that he was completely replaceable as a kicker in Miami as his stats weren't all that impressive his last season. Take a look at the comparison of the Miami kicker who replaced him and Dan over the last two seasons, one of which he was hurt in. He was let go purely as a salary cap issue.

I've always believed the NFL way under-valued kickers. In a league where the spreads are often well within one score, a dependable long-range kicker can make the difference in a number of games.

I think Miami regrets not re-signing him. The guy who replaced him is not as good.

Not to mention he got hurt playing dodgeball when he had no business playing to begin with. Wat an idiot! You don't kick the ball in dodgeball.
