PAC writer lowering himself to the BSC. As if PSU was even relevant in the BSC and as if Wistrcill was a capable Commissioner.

Someone should point out to him the Sean Chambers plays for MSDUI, not SacSt.

Very first line of the story:

A staffer holding a portable smoke machine waved it at the ankles of Montana State quarterback Sean Chambers on Sunday afternoon.

Wait a minute. I thought that Scat Teeboo guy was MSU's QB. Did I miss something?

Interesting quote from Dan Hawkins: "You don’t get away with running the same thing out on the field there series to series. People are dialing it up,” Hawkins said. “It’s high-level coaching.”

Canzano is Portland based, so of course he’s going to be more familiar with PSU and Barnum. He’s noted for lamenting the state of PSU and Portland football, so it’s not surprising that he did Big Sigh media days. He clearly likes that FCS isn’t high dollar and is more “pure.”

I don't mind the column. It's a little Lake Woebegonish in its romanticizing of a small college football conference that despite what the author says is trapped by the current of the POWER 5, probably more than ever before. The NIL and the portal are changing the environment of small college football. If Canzano covered the Big Sigh Conference in the fall instead of July, he would see that.

Yep. The glory days of FCS football are long-gone due to the portal. When FBS drop-down players were required to sit out a year if they transferred to another FBS team, we were able to get some high quality players. Now, those players just transfer to another FBS school. The FBS portal players that FCS schools are getting now are kids who could never start for their current team, and maybe not even any other FBS team, so they drop-down to the FCS level to play. The exception is an FCS school who has developed a strong NIL program, so that they can pay players more than many of the lower FBS schools. Incarnate Word is the poster child for this. They should be in the hunt for a National Championship this year.

Dude that article is the most empty description of college football and especially the big sky I’ve ever read…

The commissioner walks across a reservation casino.

The conference moves it’s HQ to the flashy metropolitan SLC

The back up QB for MSU does a video for media day

Our coaches don’t suck…they make in game changes

What the hell was that. Oh by the way. The BSC commisioner can kick rocks. F that guy. Go back to the rust belt.

NIL changes along with a 3 year minimum school commitment may be coming. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/joe-manchin-tommy-tuberville-introduce-bill-name-image-likeness-rules-rcna96450

The portal has made players who enter into mercenaries. Apt description. Wagner Troops. Money will be the death of college sports.
