Canadian Question?

I know the rules to American football are different to the game we play in Canada, and I understand that Haynes TD catch would normally be counted as a TD in the States. My question is about a play in the third quarter. A Griz receiver, I think it was Jones but I'm not sure, was hit by a Eastern Washington player in a helmet to helmet contact. In Canadian football a player is not allowed to "target" a player with their helmet. Is this different in the US? In Canada that play would have been a disqualification foul for "targeting and attempting to injure". Does that call exist in the US?

There is a "targeting" penalty in US football. I don't think that play should have been called that, as the player would be thrown out of the game. Generally that is called when a player "launches" with the helmet as a battering ram. It was helmet to helmet though, and should have been called as a personal foul. Especially because Jones was going down, and the EWU player matched his height made that contact. Close call, not sure Jones makes the catch anyway. Certainly didn't cost the Griz the game.

Damn. I thought you were going to ask the difference between Back, and Canadian Bacon. I've always wanted to know.

Beauty, ay?
